You guys talk about it being "cheap" to charge in with a visor and say nothing about Kassian's shots on Roussel while the sweater is over his head. Let the man get adjusted, then resume the mele.
While I do think the lid/visor should go, the visor doesn't help as much as many of you think. Also, give Roussel some credit, he was landing some punches with a sweater over his head. Idk why the votes are so lopsided.
Kassian wins easily. Roussel deserved the extra shots when his jersey came over his head because of the cheap Calgary like move of not dropping his lid before the fight and trying to get the jump on Kassian............and he paid the price for it. At the start of the year, I thought that Dallas was going to be one of the softest teams in the league, but as it turns out Washington owns that title.
For those voting for Roussel, call 911, your are likely having a stroke and your vision is gone. This one is not even close. Had Lessour not faked to remove his lid and caught Kassian off guard he would have likely been concussed. Kassian has a lot of work to do but you can't argue his strength, size and willingness. Canucks might have a beauty there.
Fight wasn't fantastic. Roussel had the win off the drop, but lost control as Kassian got a good grip.
Win to Kassian.
Don't like Roussel's approach with the visor. To the guy saying visors don't protect you as much as we think, you are wrong. Wearing a visor in a fight gives you a major advantage. The guy throwing at the visor has to be careful not to cut his hand on the visor, and has the top half of his face protected from anything but low to high shots. Watch the Thornton- Scott fight where Thornton ended up with a concussion, and tell me a visor wouldn't have protect Thornton there (Not saying he should start wearing one at all. Not even close)
obviously siding with any canuck I'll sound like a homer given my handle but clear win by kassian imo. Any props for taking on a bigger stronger man are negated by the wisor and chinny on so tight i'm surprised roussel can breathe.
The Mad House, you say "Rousell early, Kassian in the middle then Roussel late, giving it a draw due to the great effort by both." Can you help me out with the Roussel late part? Was that with his jersey over his head getting fed punches? He came out with a good flurry but Kassian got control about 4 seconds into an 11 second bout. Kassian's helmet is always loose, he's constantly re-adjusting it while playing. It wouldn't take much to shake it loose.
