Thornton is a bad bitch, and made Toews his bitch.

It's not often Thornton finds someone that small to fight, he must have thought he went to heaven when Toews went for it, but it wasn't close.

The announcers had it correct. 2 for the crosscheck (ok he got boarding), 2 for the instigator and 2 for the instigator with shield plus 5 for fightting. Why didn't they call that?

I'm not sure what Toews was thinking....actually I don't think he was

Would love to hear the reason for this. Toews is no fighter, but he looks for a beat down and finds it. Very strange indeed for him. Thornton was as surprised as everyone was.. No contest.

Uh Toews, why you go and pick this fight? The least you could have done is pick a fight with someone closer to you in size......

Waste of my time. I have seen romantic comedies with more action. Toews, keep your gloves on.

Easy win for Thornton

Toews must of thought momentarily that he was back in juniors.

Take a second to look at the history between these two, then you will understand why Toews dropped the gloves. Every time the hawks play the sharks jumbo Joe always seems to be head hunting Toews, for some particular reason. It's been a long time coming, but he finally went after Thornton.

Thornton is 230 lbs plus.. He milked that boarding called anyways.

Toews has had plenty of reason to go after Thornton before tonight. The sucker punch last year being the biggest one. Thornton also was practice his swan dive on the boarding call. Toews is in way over his head and cannot fight well but the emotional lift it gives the team is what made the fight stand out. The Captain standing up for himself, no matter how lopsided the matchup, and setting the tone for his team to follow.
