These days Duncan Keith fights about as often as Muhammad Ali and it shows but he saw his teammate get laid out with a legal hit and went after Desjardins. Once again the refs blew the call by giving Desjardins a match penalty which was rescinded by the league after the game.

Desjardins gives Mayers
a poormans' re-enactment
of the Lindros-Stevens incident

Keith shows up later to test his own visor strength
and is rammed into the boards for his trouble

Presumably Duncan Keith felt guilty for that hospital pass. Consensus seems to be clean hit -- certainly looked clean.

Mayers blown up... Not much video of the fight... OriginalSex1957 flaccid once again...

The match penalty to Desjardins was rescinded, ref made the right call on the ice and the league made the right call later. You gotta call what you see and if you were on the ice you would have seen the same thing. At first look it did look like a head shot, on slow-mo you see there is no head contact. Good for Keith to step in for a teammate, normally it would be Mayers stepping in when Keith gets hit. Good to see.

outside of the launch it was a clean hit shoulder to shoulder. That's why when in open ice you keep your head on a swivel

The fight never materialized, but that was just a clean and solid shoulder to shoulder great hit!

I give the fight a draw, but Desjardins open ice check was a beauty.

A good hit and good on Keith to respond, but he's not really a capable scrapper.

The NHL needs to figure out a way to keep guys from having to fight after clean, hard, hits.
There's a time and place; this wasn't it.

Win Desjardins. Clean hit, caught Mayers with his head down. Keith feeling a bit guility because he gave him that suicide pass. Desjardins is a tough customer, clear winner.

Didn't look like much of a fight at all....love to see a player stick up for a teammate who just received a cheap shot

For the record Keith is 6'1" 200lbs and Desjardin is listed as 6'1" 195 , not "much bigger"
