Wow. Thorty I hope that you come back OK from that one. Courageous and tactical, you just missed the grab and let that hammer go free. Can't take anything away from Scott, dude's a big, strong fella and brought the hurt.

Thornton instigated the fight and Scott simply steamrollered him. He never was able to get a punch in due to Scott's height, reach and technique advantage while Scott literally knocked him out of the game. Thornton tried to send the message the Bruins have sent to the Sabres for years, "We will rough you up, headhunt your best players and there isn't a thing you can do about it." Scott replied in the proper manner, by beating the instigator so hard he never returned, the Bruins stopped their usual rough play and got themselves hammered by a more skilled team.

The Bruins are simply going to have to rely on their Uncle Colin to do their enforcing this year.

Thornton got owned. Even at the end when the Bruins sent out their thugs and Ruff called a T/O and countered with Scott. The Bruins ran scared.

No one should ever fight John Scott. He is a terrible player and can't skate.

Bruins Fan: Domination Scott.
Shawn thornton deserved the medal of Honor and the purple heart for taking on this fight.
John Scott deserves the Championship Belt.
However, im sorry but my homerism cannot go away with the sabres, it just cant. This is a fan base that truely believes that because they have a giant goon who cant skate backwards and plays 5 minutes , who beats up a guy half the size of him that, that makes them a tougher team then the Bruins. Sabres play their best games against the Bruins because they have a chip on their shoulder. John Scott will fight anyone at anytime but unfortutetely for Sabre fans he only plays 4 minutes a game. Name one other guy on your team that can actually out muscle and or beat up either Chara , Lucic , Horton , McQuaid , Boychuck , or Thornton? ... You truely believe that the Buffalo Sabres can Match that?? The last thing the Sabres wanna do is really poke at the bruins cause your Giant will only get one crack. Then whos gonna step up?? Kaletta? Weber?? They are literally scared ****less of anyone who isnt Greg Cambell. Seriously. Keep playing with that chip, i hope they do. John Scott can only do so much. So when John Scott and The sabres make themselves relevant then we can actually see if your as tough as the Bruins like you love thinking you are right now.
But anyway ... Your winning the battle this year congrats , Good rivalry going. And with Lindy Ruff gone i think it can turn into a respectful rivalry.

if he gets his right hand free as was the case here, game over!

Clear domination by John Scott, but I think Thornton did some embellishment at the end.

Easy win for Scott. Thornton never throws 1 shot and eats everything Scott throws. Qualifies as a Domination, especially with Thornton out.

On a side not, Saberhatred Jr may be the dumbest person on this site.

hey bostonslugfest.... yeh thornton might have a legitmate spot on bostons lineup... untill he decided to fight scott....

talk all you want about who has a better line spot.. scott does his job and did his job tonight.. if thornton wants to be the best heavyweight in the league like you guys chalk him up to be. he better try harder next time.. cause we all know they will go again

Why do some of these idiots get so carried away? The next time Boston plays Buffalo, it won't be a guy 5'10 going up against a guy 6'5". And then it'll be more of Lucic, Mcquaid, Chara, Horton and Thornton against who? Seriously? I've followed this league for 45 years and never seen anybody overplay a hand as continually and badly as Lindy Ruff. Which is why he's won absolutely nothing. Let's see how Scott does on the long end of Chara's arm ..... we know he won't be able to skate out of the way.

Thornton out with a concussion from this beat down.

Total and complete domination by Scott. Thornton wasn't even lucid enough at the end to let go of Scott's sweater.

Anyone that rates this as a draw or a Thornton win should pull their head out or mama B's ass.
