what's wrong w/attacking a guy who LAYS OUT you're best player/captain? who cares if the hit was clean(which it wasn't), you cant have your team run out of the building... I love retaliation and glad players are still goin after dudes on hits like this. O'Byrne w/a proper mugging on Stuart and a 'no contest' W. good hockey.

If the announcer has to ask why this happens, then he shouldn't be announcing hockey ever again.

If this was Steve Moore hitting Naslund, they would have rioted in Vancouver last night. Most of those idiots in Vancouver thinking Moore's hit was dirty are probably thinking this deserves a hanging. It was borderline high but a damn good hit. O'B did what he should have. End of story!

Hopefully Landy learned a lesson. Heads up Kid.

Sad when a guy makes a great hit and then needs to defend himself. We miss you in Hockeytown Stuart!!!

The announcer needs to shut up. Great fight.

Give a good hit and then get jumped, somewhat lame. I respect a teammate jumping up for your captain after a dirty hit but that is a clean bump. Ultimately, Sharks made them pay with two PP goals and the game.

These announcers are giving that Jack Edwards a run for his money. I think they have it wrong on whether or not that was a clean hit, but what really astonishes me is how they question the league's integrity over someone sticking up for their team mate. Somewhat out of touch with the game if you ask me.

O'Byrne did exactly what a teammate does after a big hit like that. He grabbed Stuart and beat him like a dog. I thought Stuart had some toughness to him. Nope.

Not really a fight O'Byrne wanted to fight. Stuart wanted nothing to do with it. Stuart took a slight beating, then the sharks beat the piss out of the Avalanche on the scoreboard.

Dirty hit?!? Flying Elbows?!? Do you guys need an anatomy lesson? When Stuart makes contact, his elbow is down next to his belly button, pressed against his own body. He leads with his shoulder giving a perfect shoulder to shoulder hit. Notice how no penalty was called and the league didn't issue so much as a fine? And O'Byrne is a puzzy for instigating with his visor on. Notice how he avoided Adam Burish's attempt to engage. No, let's go after a non-fighter so Burish doesn't clean my clock. I give this one to Stuart because O'Byrne was a puzzy.

Clean hit, hit him in the chest, but nice on O'Byrne for sticking up for his teammate and laying a beatdown on Stuart. Stuart will think twice before lining up one of the Avalanches star players again.

Good on O'Byrne for dropping the gloves in defense of a questionable hit on his captain. For not being a regular fighter he landed some good shots.
