Gallant with a good victory, Gallant looking impressive this season.

Gallant at about 1/2 of the salary shows why the Isles were content to let Haley walk last summer. Gallant with the Cleaner, heavier shots and the Victory.

Very close fight. Not sure what the others are commenting on. I saw Haley take on a bigger opponent to a draw.

As these two were teammates the year before you'd think it would have seen a "nice job" at the end of it from both guys. I think the fact that Gallant showed a little extra "mean" after the bout might say more about why Haley isn't an Islander anymore.
Haley was a HUGE fan favorite with Islander fans, and when he wasn't resigned, and wound up with the Rangers this islander fan thought there had to be more to it.
One thing is they had Gallant to replace him. Gallant wasn't the player Haley was, but just as good at what he does. Gallant is younger. But there is no way Gallant will be able to build the cult following haley had because of the perfect chain of events late in the season against the Penguins in 2011. Maybe some day we'll learn the whole story.
