Smith 6'1"/170 Shaw 5'11"/165...doesn't equal much smaller.

Shaw asked for it and got it. Smith with a dominate win!

Good for Smith in his first NHL fight, gave him the biased W. However, hard to fight guys wearing visors, good scrap and a 6.

Yes, Smith won the "battle" (fight). Yes, Shaw was sticking up for the earlier clean hit on Kane. But the "war" (or game) was won by the Blackhawks because Shaw took a defenseman off the ice for 5 mins from a team that was already down one before the scrap. Heady move by the rookie Shaw. The Wings defenseman's legs were already slowing and now they had to absorb more minutes because Smith was dumb enough to engage in the scrap. That is why Hawks were able to score game winner.
