Shaw bit off a bit more than he could chew on that one.

the wings finally win a fight...

Good scrap. 1st scrap for Smith and he held his own against a much smaller Shaw. Shaw had been pesky all period and wanted to go with someone earlier (Filppula I think). Good to see the Wings fighting!!

Redwings actually win a fight! Shaw starts punching Smith in the face before he even has a chance to take off his helmet, so don't even start with the "fighting with a visor" stuff. Smith then makes Shaw pay for starting the fight.

Shaw wanted it and got more than he could handle.

I loved the clash of the rookies. Brendan Smith got a few more punches in which connected. It is always a treat to see a Red Wing fight on any given day. I will give Smith the win, but Andrew Shaw did fight with an attitude.

Smith easy win after shaw trying for the cheap shots when smith wasnt ready.

Typical redwing VISOR fight: MUCH TO DO ABOUT NOTHING
This has yo go down as the WORST fight(?????) in NHL history.
YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN

Rofl smith had no chance to get visor off noob typical butt hurt pens fan hating on wings, sounds like a typical crosby fan.

Nice W by Smith, fun fight to watch. Too bad the Wings couldn't pull out a W as well but with their best forward and best defender out I'll take a 1-goal loss.

Calling it a draw on VISOR PRINCIPLE....

Shaw has guts and likes to jackhammer but certainly did not get it going today.

Good to see fights again in most hawks/wings game. Granted not PROBERT/GRIMSON but beats the **** out of nothing.

DRAW 6

I agree with the statements about the visor, Shaw started throwing punches and Smith had no time to remove it. Shaw trying to remove that helmet allowed him to open up enough to take a good one to the chops.

The only person in the Wings org who doesnt want a tough guy is Ken Holland.. Babcock always carried one in Anaheim, and Babcock wanted Smith in the lineup at the beginning of the season, Holland vetoed that one also.... Nice scrap for the rookie though, hope he picks his spots.

Brendan Smith making a case to stay with the big club, doing it all for the wings, riot shield and all. This kid is going to be the real deal..."HOLY JUMPIN"

"Much Smaller Shaw"...how so?

Smith 6'1"/170 Shaw 5'11"/165...doesn't equal much smaller.

Shaw asked for it and got it. Smith with a dominate win!
