The ''super-sized'' Kassian
seemed to do enough damage, early in the fight...
to overcome...
A) running out of gas, and
B) Thornton's mini-comeback.

Surprising.

You don't see Thorny lose many fights but he did that one. At the end he was rallying and you could see a gassed Kassian drawing deep breaths. But Kassian's strong start gives him the W and Thorny's face will be even more lumpier today than usual.

Thornton hung in there and finished well, but Kassian got the best of him. Thornton's face looked like it took some real big blows. Maybe you could vote a draw at best, but those of you that voted Thornton as a winner might need to take an eye test.

Thornton was channeling Cam Janssen and came on strong at the end. However, not enough to overtake the early lead for Kassian. Not sure if the damage to Thornton's face was from a helmet, but those marks make it look like a Kassian win.

Nothing like a good start to get your momentum going...
Thornton made a bid for a draw but Kassian's quick start for a slight edge and Win.
BTW...Kassian was running out of gas at the end.

Good scrap. Gotta give it to Kassian...Props to him for saying yes when his team was up a couple in the 3rd....

That was a much closer fight than it may appear on the surface. Kassian started out landing almost at will. Thornton landed some pretty solid punches mid to late fight. Thornton typically has very good fights-even with guys that are much bigger than he is- so its a little surprising when someone hangs in with him. Edge to Kassian.

Ok Ladies, let's be honest here... If you actually watch closely, looking for punches landed, etc., the only time Kassian caught Thornton was while he was scraping his helmet across Thornton's forehead (refer to 0:27 & also a great shot of this is from the overhead camera at 2:04). It started ugly, but Kassian was all flail and no substance, Thornton with the win.

Kassian at the start, Thornton the rest of the way. Thornton will a hard win.

Andre The Giant landing some decent overhands early...Shawnee T slipping a few and landing some uppercuts&overhands later,in tight...Very Spirited Draw....the Bad News Bears could use some of this Spirit

Good scrap lads. Kassian gets the slight edge, but Thorts did get a few in.

Good to I ally see Kass get a run in the side, hope he can just maintain it.

BigBadBruin22, c'mon don't be a homer. I can understand giving this one a draw but Thorny did not win the fight. He was eating it at the start and although he rallied, he never had Kassian in big trouble.

These Boston Bruin fans crack me up. No doubt Thornton is a really good fighter, but he is capable of losing. He hung in there with Kassian and appeared to have better cardio, but one look at his face and you can tell who landed the better shots.

Great stuff, great heavyweights. Kassian early but Thornton ties him up and gets in some bombs. Draw.
