Complete domination by Chris Stewart after a questionable hit. Cowardly move by Stuart punching after the bout was over.

Stewert is a goon plain and simple hes a seasoned fighter with i believe 68 fights under his belt and I think Stuart has maybe 10 or 11. Stuart lays a beauty of a check to a player who gets caught with his head down. then Stewert fresh of the bench comes and challenges Stuart who was just coming in for a change after a great shift and Stewert basically rapes him. The fight would would have looked a lot different if Stuart would have had his jersey tied down. also all the punches after they went down classless.

obvious domination. obvious dirty elbow as usual by a red wings player. I give blues player hack when they do it too. Like
Stewart's on Kronwall earlier in the year. But that was a dirty elbow and he deserved the beat down.

I don't think he meant to, but that was clearly a shoulder to the head. All of you that says Petrangelo's head was down are blind. Yes he looked down, but you can absolutely see he raised it up prior to Stuart's shoulder hitting him in the head.
I totally support Stewart going after him. You can not allow other teams to push you around. If you do cheap shots are going to abound. Detroit is notorious for getting away with a lot more then they should. Jimmy Howard should thank God every day for making him a goalie. He is as cheap of a player as their is out there. That guy is gonna hurt someone.

Clear win for Stewie not even a contest really, stuart decides to throw punches and even try to kick stewart when theyre both on the ice. Clean hit? yes for the most part. Still like to see Stewart back up Petro. Strong Wing homer presence here by the comments and the fact that 13% of you picked stuart as the winner. Im guessing you all just got confused by the last names.

This just in; MLB is banning home runs next season. No one is allowed to hit them and if they do you get jumped by the catcher and suspended by Bud Selig. Recap; elbows were down, shoulder planted squarely into chest. No head shot. No injury. That hit was a thing of beauty to be ADMIRED by both sides. BS Stewy. C'mon Man! The whole "tuf guy stickin' up for my teammate reaction to clean hit s*** " has gotta stop. Stupid. See it all the time now. Get rid of it. Yeesh.

If the refs let them go a little longer, it would've been better

Anyone beating the crap out of a Red Wings player is awesome.
Stuart displays classic Red Wings cheapness throwing punches on the ground, pathetic.

if this happens enough maybe no one will use a clean check for fear of a enforcer (fresh) coming off the bench and pounding them. stewart needs a payback from the league or perferably the wings

Stewart just wanted to be on hockeyfights.com and didn't realize he was playing a hockey game. Match up when you're both fresh, or both tired but don't instigate a fight that way. Stuart either got the last shot in or punched the ice.

seems that the Blues are so tired of being the Wings doormats that they have to result to goonery in order to win. why would you go after Stuart (who's hit was clean...see Stevens vs Lindros if you're not sure what a clean yet devastating hit looks like) who's never been known as a fighter. If Stewart had any hair on his sack he'd have challenged Abdelkader or Tuzz. Stewart wins...but loses in the fight with class category.

Even as a homer i thought the hit was pretty clean and don't understand Stewart's reaction. Maybe the forearm came out a little? It wasn't like the Elbow that Datysuk threw into Jackman back in December. That being said, i can't argue with a red wing getting skunked in a fight, Stewart kept firing and Stuart's effort wasn't good enough to keep the fight close.

I am baffled as to how Stuart managed to not tie his jersey down and yet miss out on the penalty. I thought that was literally by the book either tied down and no penalty or not tied down and a penalty?
