Rupp with the win over a fading Thornton. Thorton's best day's are behind him.......He can beat people like Hamerlik but let's face it he doesn't have it anymore...........maybe he thinks he is a goal scorer now.........

LET'S SEE WHAT THAT MIDDLE FINGER LIFTING WEASEL COWARD FERENCE GET'S FOR THE DIRTY HIT FROM BEHIND.........MY GUESS HE GETS AWAY FROM IT.........NICE TO SEE THE VERY CLEAN MARCHAND BACK AT IT WITH THE PUNCH TO THE GROIN ON STAHL

BRUINS ARE THE DIRTIEST TEAM IN THE LEAGUE

Great scrap,
(aside from Thornton not taking Rupp up on his initial lid toss offer)
...but I think that the real story here
is how Rupp has quietly, improved to the point
that he's now able to draw, or sometimes...even edge,
legit, league enforcers.

Judging by the marks on Thorny's face you have to give the decision to Rupp and his longer reach. But the fight led to a goal by Ference just 40 seconds later putting the Bruins back in the game. Then Ference took a bonehead boarding major in OT allowing the Rangers to win with four seconds left. Hero one minute, goat the next.

Edge to Rupp, I have always loved Thronton, but he has not had a great season in the fight department.

going draw -- Rupp landed more but Thornton had the bigger shots

Good fight...
Rupp throwing lots of jabs and a few glancing rights.
I felt Thornton threw less but connected with the better rights (like the one at .19 seconds).
I'll go Draw on this as per quality and not quantity.

This was a nice tussle....I'm Giving the edge to Thornton but I wouldn't argue a draw either
I will say this.....Thornton's over all superior strength was quite evident to say the least!!!!

Rupp uses his reach to secure a win

Rupp with the edge, though Thornton was in it, and the B's scored just a bit later. Of course, if friggin' Julien would have called a timeout with 15 seconds remaining in overtime, the Bruins sould have made it to the shootout, but he had to let it go. A monkey could have called that timeout, and the Bruins lost because he didn't.

Good, solid close fight. Rupp always seems to have a good one vs Thornton. But IMO, not good enough this time. Thornton by a hair for slightly better quality...hate those jersey jabs.

Rupp seems to have Thornton's number, connecting on several solid rights. The NESN feed had a little better view of this one and you could see that Thornton to a good one to the nose as he was bleeding on his way to the box. Win for Rupp and possible broken nose for Thornton.
