Clean, hard check by Staubitz. Gutless and classless response by Mac.

Steve MacIntyre is doing his job. And I can bet that after the hit the other day on Eberle, the Oilers are a little sensitive these days about guys taking runs at their guys. If MacIntyre isn't going to react that way then what the hell do the Oilers need him for. He's smart enough to know that. Staubitz's hit wasn't a head shot, but maybe a little over-reacting by guys like MacIntyre is what we need to get head shots out of the game. Overall, Staubitz took quite a beating this game.

Sorry guys, Sedin Fan is totally right. Mac is a true thug who shouldn't be playing. He'll be out of hockey within 2 years. That's not to say we don't like him. We do. He's an old school brawler. A useles player on a shytty team playing two minutes a game. You can like him but don't be blind to the facts.

#1 Big mac was just standing up for his younger and less tougher team mates.

Brad "Coward of the County" Staubitz ...loser! The linesman got in more shots than the turtling Wild tough guy. Hey, sedinfan, we'll see you and your Canucks on the golf course in a week or so.

I'm a pretty firm believer in not just jumping a guy, who wants nothing to do with you. But once every few years, It makes me smile when someone just needs a good beat down. Hordi V Avery a few years ago comes to mind. I cant give a win because it wasnt a fight. Sure would have loved it had they really went.

Smacs doing his job, obviously stauby turned him down to square up
so he did what an enforcer does. FIGHT him anyway

Staubitz is a hack and Minnesota got duped when they thought they were signing a fighter. They should have watched the tapes of his few bouts when he played for San Jose.

stuabitz runs around then runs away..big mac was only getting another 30 seconds of ice time anyway. way to stick up for the team

I think one of the problems here is that a lot of you guys didn't watch the game.

This wasn't a situation where Staubitz made that one hit and MacIntyre lost his mind.

Staubitz had been running around at guys all game and wouldn't fight him. This particular hit wasn't that bad but it was an accumulation of actions. Finally he had to just grab him and set out the rules. This sort of a thing is a direct result of the instigator rule and is what happens when guys are allowed to do what they want and then refuse to fight.
