Initially, it seems like Shelley is slightly leery of Yonkman,
probably due to the latter's sheer size.

But once ''the Yonk'' lands a couple of powder puff, jersey jabs
Shelley quickly establishes that he poses no real threat,
and proceeds to drop all signs of defence, as he goes to town on him.

It's starting to look like ''Frankenshelley'' is really back.

Shelley with the win despite the punch that turned his face into a gusher.

Nolan Yonkman is no rookie; he's been bouncing around in the minors for ten years. I'm sure he enjoys jet travel and five star hotels rather than the bus route and Holiday Inns. Taking on Shelley he wants to show Tippett and Maloney that he should stay with the parent team.

Shelley gives him a nasty lesson on how to throw them.

The new student learns from one of the professors...
Don't know much about Yonkman,
Has the size and looks like he can throw but has to toughen up the chin a little. You can tell he was in trouble to how he reacted on the first jersey jab . To his credit, he did get one in on Shelley.
Win Jody.
Will give it a 7.

oh god, shelley, THANK YOU. the shell comes storming back and absolutely destroys the yonk, man. look at those sweeping rights, that is one big-ass arc. those were like barry zito curveballs, only thunderous. a long overdue impressive display. i'm feeling generous tonight, 8.

absolutely, total, whole, undeniable proof that he who bleeds doesn't always lose.

What a bout, Shelley rocks the Yonk, then the Yonk gets three in a row right on the button, then Shelley comes back to take the Yonk down.

Giving it to Shelley despite taking a little punishment, but that just shows his metal.
Good to see the Yonk get a run in the NHL agains, let's hope we see more of him.

Nice work by Shelley to overcome a huge reach disadvantage. First with the j-jabs, then with some punishing rights. I'm sure Yonkman could do better, but tonight he belonged on a basketball court...
