Date / Time Away / Home Team Away / Home Player
Nov 12, 1999 Vancouver Canucks Brad May
2pd 02:36 Phoenix Coyotes Todd Gill
Bertuzzi runs a Phoenix player and a scrum develops. May ends up initiating a fight with Todd Gill and they separate from the crowd. They each grab on with their left hand, leaving their rights free. Gill is landing occasional body shots while May waits for an opening. Then they start trading rights, some of which appear to land decently for both fighters. They reset with their rights cocked and May gets in a body shot or two before the linesmen think they've had enough and separate the combatants. Other Penalties: Todd Bertuzzi received a goalie interference minor.

Gill was a great in this slugfest.
He landed more punches and usually got in better one than MayDay.
T.Gill got the edge/narrow win.

Great fight with some good punches landed. A draw if there ever was one.

Even with his size, Gill couldn't overpower May who' a legit fighter.

I would have loved to see these two ten years earlier. May is a pure puncher and Gill had a killer left (just ask Joel Otto)

Todd Gill was an underrated fighter. He's by no means a big guy but he could handle himself very well. I remember when he played for the Wings at the end of his career. Gill wasted a much bigger Steve McKenna when Gill played for the Wings.
