Laughing at FernBen, but there's nothing really to say about this ''fight'',

other than A) why was Thornton so pissed?

and B) of all people...why Hamrlik?

Pierre Mcguire may put the B in bald,

and his borderline theatrical enthusiasm might a little hard on the eyes,

but he's usually half decent, and fairly informative as a daily guest

on MItch Melnyck's radio show...in short bursts.

I wasn't even going to reply to the nonsense that got posted in response to my post, but I had to once I stopped laughing. If you are a Habs fan and didn't like it, that's understandable. No one wants to see their team lose AND get smacked all over the ice. Haha However, to the other idiots, I can tell by your spelling and grammar errors that you're uneducated in every area, not just hockey. I know my hockey and hockey history as well.

All tough guys, Probert, Domi, Kocur, Grimson, etc...have had fights with non-guys. Look up Orr and Carkner's dance partners as well and you'll see some in there too. When non-fighters play chippy, edgy or tough they're going to eventually have to back it up some day. It's not the B's fault that the Habs have NO toughness, it's Habs managent's fault! And no, Laraque was not a good fighter. He was a goon wrestler at best. He is/was nothing like Probert, Domi, Kocur, Grimson or even more recently Boogaard, Orr, Carkner, etc... The last real fighters the Habs had were Nilan and Kordic in the 80's and Ewen in the 90's. The B's had no toughness after Miller and Byers left around 91, and didn't get any until 97 or so with Baumgartner Nd Belanger, and an aging McSorley. In that time I watched countless B's get smacked around by other team's tough guys and I didn't whine about it. I put blame where it was supposed to be, on my home team's managent.
Neil fights non-fighters often, even when there are fighters present. That's cheap! Thornton, Orr, Carkner...these guys do it only when they feel it's needed or in this case, needed AND no tough guys!!! The B's are playing perfect tough hockey right now. They're not running around taking cheap shots at people, they're playing tough, good hockey, and fighting those that step over the line with cheap stuff, and the B's have a few players who respond well and do it with respect, when respect is deserved! That goes for Lucic too. He isn't afraid of anyone. He is instructed by management to not fight with goons unless he has no choice which was the case with Laraque before.
I will say that Thornton is one tough dude, there are tougher guys but none as tough and classy. Now the Habs need to be pissed at their management for putting them on the ice with no toughness to get slapped around by teams like Philly, Boston and another seriously tough team, Pitt! Godard, Asham, Rupp and Engelland! I'd like to see Pitt and Boston in a seven game series!!! I'm not going to respond to any more keyboard tough guys in here that are uninformed about toughness, hockey or the code. How bout we stop whining and watch the fights! When the guy/team we like loses, suck it up! It happens to the best of them. Thornton loses once in a while. I'm ok with it. Everyone can't win all of the time. Stop taking everything so personal, but for God's sake make some sense in here. State facts as to why you're spouting off nonsense! Go B's and for Christ's sake Habs, get a tough guy!!!! Haha

Feel a bit for Roman here, he's the unlucky one that gets the heavyweight in the brawl.

Wow, I used to have respect for some of these guys. Thornton, what a man. Next time pick a cripple in a wheelchair to mug. Campbell, you're the pip there, too bro. Real tough guy you chose to pummel. Ference was looking for a fight, then hits a guy when he's down. A sad day in Boston; truly losers in the human race tonight, boys.

Seems like the only ones who didn't like this are habs fans! It isn't the Bruins fault that the habs don't know how to respond to the rough stuff.

Like him or hate, he wins and he loses, not the biggest or the strongest but I think Thornton is the most exciting fighter in the NHL.

Can hardly call this a fight. Thornton, who preaches the "code" bigtime, broke it tonight with a classless display as did most of the Bruins. Montreal needs another "BGL" to stand up to the Boston school yard bullies.

Hammer shot the puck on net a good 5 seconds after the whistle, good on Thornton to grab him and embarrass him.
