Jody Shelley vs Shawn Thornton

Shelley, looking like a massive version of Asham's old 45,

effectively uses a series of quick jersey jabs,

to set up some well-calculated bombs,

on his way to one sided, albeit rare...win.

That was all Shelley until the end when Thorny made a comeback. The fight gave the Flyers a lift but they melted down like the Wicked Witch of the West in the third period. Shelley is in better shape now than he was at the beginning of the season when he was losing his fights.

two bad fights in a row for Thornton, especially surprising to lose to Shelley who has had a tough year.

Shelley does a good job distracting Thornton with the jersey jabs...
Uses a nice combination of jabs to set up the rights.
A momentum shift by Thornton at the end but not enough to earn a draw.
Slightest of edge to Shelley.

Shelley looked good. Thornton lands one late, but other than that its all Shelley in this one

i cant see a shelley win, neither a thornton win in this boring defensive bout. theres not much offense overall and neither of the combatants does no damage so im going with a draw and a 4

All Shelley...and I really hate to say that

As was the case in their first fight, Shelley's punches were thrown with more authority and purpose. Not a big fan of jersey jabs but these were as hard as you'll see. Shelley controlled the fight for the win and had that last right bomb landed it would've been lights out.

And he landed few/some good face-punches.
Thorntons reply-punches barely even landed but actually landed 2-3 at least.
Shelley threw himself off balance and Thornton took over a bit.
I understand draw but right call is edge/narrow win Shelley i swear.

Shelley the win on points and more connects but Thornton wasn't severely pounded like a homer like boldlittlebilly would say. He even gets pissed like a little girl when a Bruin does better than this in a fight. Call what you see little girl.
