Did any of you "big right at the end by Carkner" dopes actually watch the close-up replay at the end? The punch doesnt land, Thornton clearly dodges what could have been a huge punch and his momentum ends up sending him to the ice. Carkner lands a good one early on, Thornton responds with one to the side of Carkner's head, knocking his helmet off. Thornton may have landed one or two more but it wasnt clear enough to determine if they indeed landed. Great match.
I really wanted to give this a draw, but I believe I'll have to go with Carkner for his strong finish. He is an absolute monster this season but Thornton, who is not having a bad year himself (in either fighting or scoring) stood up pretty well to him. Lots of respect for both guys.
What the hell defines a heavy-weight ? I saw 5'7" 175 pound stan johnathan beat the s**t otta 6' 2" 230 pound pierre bouchard 30 years ago....you kids dont know sh&t...fighting has nothin to do with weight
Great Fight, was excited to see this one. I think these two guys are the most improved fighters this season. Both are skilled at throwing with both hands. They are big, strong, experienced scrappers. Carkner with the win.
Couple of very game heavies....Carks with the coup de grace late adding to a nice list of wins...over Boogy...Godard and now Thornton....too bad he had to ambush Paille later and get drilled late in that one.
The last right to the side of Thornton's head is awesome. Someone previously stated that it missed and Thornton lost his balance. YOUR OUT OF YOUR MIND. SOLID hit. Carkner actually holds him. Learn how to watch.
