Off the draw, the gloves fly. LaCouture wants a squareoff, but Tripp just skates right to him and lands a solid right. LaCouture comes back with a left and they exchange a few each. They wrestle, try to get each other's helmets off, but fail, and Tripp pulls around LaCouture's jersey. Finally, they go down, Tripp with the takedown, but they both hit the ice, rather than Tripp falling on top of Dan.

Laraque issues the challenge off the faceoff and off come the gloves. Laraque rips Johnson's helmet off and both guys are loading up the bombs. Standing at arm's length, with Laraque's left and Johnson's right both free, Johnson tries a couple of haymakers which miss. Johnson begins to lose his balance when Laraque throws three lefts to the back of Johnson's head and down to the ice goes Johnson. These two fight all the time, with little result.

Prims is run at at the end of a nasty period. Willams decides to stir it up and runs at whoever ran Prims. Out of the pile up, Prims and Baron come out and start throwing. Primeau gets started with about four or five lefts. Baron catches Prims with a short left and then throws a bunch of lefts, a few of which land. Primeau's then off-balance and it looked like Baron could have taken it to him if the linesmen hadn't stepped in. Other Penalties: Primeau received a roughing; Justin Williams a charging and roughing; Mike Danton a roughing.

They were right in each other's face and Smith sheds his gloves and grabs on. Stevenson is hesitant, but drops his and grabs on too. Stevenson looked content with just holding on as Smith threw a right that came up short and then threw a left overtop that missed, They then get bent over and Smith tried to get Stevenson's helmet off, but Stevenson twists him to the ice in the process.

They were in real tight. McKenna threw two rights that glanced off Vandy's helmet. Vandy tried to throw a couple, but McKenna had the reach advantage big time. They were tangled up and McKenna landed a nice left. Vandy tried to throw a couple more, but he couldn't connect with most because of Mac's reach advantage. He did land one very solid left though that did seem to stun McKenna and got the takedown.

They get pinned against the glass for a moment. Montador switches back to his right and pops Wiemer with one, that sends Wiemer's helmet flying. However, Wiemer is again landing rights, and has the control as Montador goes down to a knee as the linesmen come in. |
