Jan 22, 2004 Pittsburgh Penguins Steve McKenna
3pd 04:27 Ottawa Senators Zdeno Chara
They bumped in the corner and Mckenna turned around and they immediately dropped 'em. They each threw a couple of rights, Mckenna throwing one that was pretty powerful, but it appeared to hit Chara in the chest. It knocked Chara back a little. Chara then threw a right to the back of Mckenna's helmet. Mac went down, and Chara had the right hand ready, on top of Mac, but didn't throw. The linesmen came in.

Jan 22, 2004 Pittsburgh Penguins Kelly Buchberger
1pd 18:33 Ottawa Senators Chris Neil
This came about right after a Sens' goal, and Kelly Buchberger once again tried to get the team fired up. The camera took a good 7 or 8 seconds to get on the fight, but when it did they were grabbing on. They each got the left free, threw 6 or 7 lefts, and each appeared to connect on a couple. Buchy went down for a moment, and then got back up and had his left cocked as if he were about to throw a big haymaker, but then he somehow fell down backwards before he threw and the fight was over.

Jan 22, 2004 Nashville Predators Jordin Tootoo
3pd 15:29 Calgary Flames Jarome Iginla
Tootoo comes out of the penalty box and immediately levels a Flame with an open-ice check. Iginla challenges Tootoo and they throw the gloves off and immediately tie up with Iginla getting Tootoo bent over, but can't take advantage. Tootoo straightens up and throws three lefts with the last one landing flush to Iginla's jaw. Iginla comes back with three rights that land to the back of Tootoo's head. Tootoo twists Iginla around and as Iginla falls Tootoo lands a hard right that pisses Iginla off big-time. Iginla was bleeding, not sure if it was from a punch or if his head hit the ice.
Voted winner: Jordin Tootoo (61.5%) - Voted rating: 5.8

Jan 22, 2004 Buffalo Sabres Eric Boulton
2pd 12:55 Boston Bruins Sean O'Donnell
These two had words early in the game and this time they decide to go. They get in close and grapple for position while Boulton is preoccupied trying to free himself of his elbow pad. O'Donnell sneaks in a nice right and another right, can't tell if it landed or not. Boulton retaliates with a couple of rights, one landing flush. Boulton then switches to the left, landing one, then throws an overhand right which does nothing but throw them both off-balance. On the way down O'Donnell throws a right which misses.

Jan 21, 2004 Colorado Avalanche Peter Worrell
1pd 07:58 Florida Panthers Darcy Hordichuk
Worrell runs a Panther and Hordi goes straight after him. Hordi is skating backwards facing Worrell as Worrell just stands there and smiles at Hordi. Finally Hordi just shakes his gloves and throws a right that connects. Worrell drops his gloves and grabs on. Worrell is trying to keep him at arms-length as they each throw a couple of rights that didn't connect. Hordi threw two lefts underneath of Worrell's extended arm that looked to connect. Worrell pulls Hordi's jersey over his head and snaps the tie-down. Hordi then loses his shoulder pads and pops Worrell with a right to the side of the head that stunned him and knocked him down.

Jan 21, 2004 Carolina Hurricanes Jesse Boulerice
1pd 02:03 New Jersey Devils Rob Skrlac
Right at center ice they go at it early in the first period. A good fight with lots of punches thrown. More by Skrlac, but Boulerice possibly landed more quality shots. Skrlac either tired out or got stung by a punch towards the end. He stopped trying to throw'em and grabbed Jesse with both hands and wrestled him down.

Jan 21, 2004 San Jose Sharks Scott Parker
1pd 08:52 Phoenix Coyotes Andrei Nazarov
After a goal by San Jose Nazarov goes after Parker. It starts by the benches and when the camera gets back to them they are in close and Nazarov was throwing quick rights overtop to Parker's head. Parker gets Naz at arms-length and throws a right, then Naz throws a right. Parker threw a right underneath and then overtop that popped Nazarov's helmet off. Nazarov was going off-balance as he threw another right overtop and then spun to the ice. Parker was then standing over him with his right cocked back. As Parker was heading to the box he was saying something to Naz and was bleeding above his left brow, possibly from the quick rights from Naz at the start of the bout.

Jan 21, 2004 Chicago Blackhawks Ryan VandenBussche
2pd 10:38 Minnesota Wild Alex Henry
Off the faceoff Vandy grabs Henry and starts jersey-punching as Henry tries to get a grip. Vandy throws one or two wild swings and connects on at least one of them, cutting Henry under the left eye. Henry locks him out and Ryan keeps trying to reach him, but didn't get anything in. They both start swinging with each guy landing one or two. Vandy starts to jersey Henry and pull his head down. At this point the jersey is over his head and they each throw one. A blinded Henry missed and Vandy got in a punch to the top of Henry's helmet. Verot falls and tries to get up, but Domi pushes him down to ice. Refs come in and grab Verot while Domi hits him with one right then a left uppercut.

These two get going around the Bruins net. Lots of holding to start it off, finally Barnaby gets his right free and throws a few body shots and mixes in some punches to the head. Boynton gets his right free and lands a few, and they both start exchanging some short punches. Barnaby was doing his trademark head-shaking every time he got hit. Other Penalties: Mike Knuble and Chris Simon each received a roughing.
