Behind the play, the two drop the gloves at center ice and tie up. Marchment throws four overhand rights as Rivet throws a right and tries to duck away from the punches. Marchment misses with an overhand right before Rivet throws a right that grazes the top of Marchment's helmet. Rivet throws another right and the two go toe-to-toe with punches; Rivet with rights, Marchment switching and going with the left. Marchment switches hands and the two continue throwing rapid fire rights. Marchment throws three more rights as Rivet ducks down and the two go back and forth with rights. Marchment misses inside with an uppercut and throws two overhand rights as Rivet struggles to get loose. They grapple for a short moment before exchanging multiple left hands. Marchment knocks Rivet's helmet off before Rivet switches to the right and the two go toe-to-toe once more, this time at a much slower pace. They each exchange long rights before they stop throwing and the linesmen come in. They each skate back to the dressing room for repairs; Rivet with a bloody nose, Marchment with a cut over his right eye.

The Rangers are in the offensive zone and Brodeur makes a couple of great saves. The puck goes into the corner and these two are already going at it. They're hugging, in-tight, each throwing some left noogies, possibly three each, then they grapple to the ice.

The Stars are on the power play and McCormick and Morrow decide to have a go. It starts off at the blue line with no square off. Each player grabs on and starts grappling for position. Morrow finally decides to start throwing and starts off with two rights that don't have much on them and come up short. McCormick then comes back with two lefts that are more like shoves, but he does take Morrow's helmet off during the exchange. They do some more spirited grappling. Morrow then comes with four over hand rights. Two come up short and two hit the side of McCormick's head. McCormick responds with two lefts to the side of Morrow's head. They grapple some and Morrow throws a right to the back of McCormick's head. They grapple some more and Morrow lands a weak right to McCormicks back or neck. They continue to grapple, and finally get some separation. They exchange simultaneous punches, McCormick connects with a straight left and Morrow hits McCormick's shoulder with a right. McCormick then jerks Morrow off-balance and McCormick tries one more left while Morrow is going down to his knees and hits Morrow's ribs or back. The linesmen come in after that.

McAllister tried to go with Downey, who turned him down for Worrell. McAllister then throws a sucker punch at Ott, who swings his stick at McAllister while he's on the ice. Other Penalties: Ott received a slashing; McAllister an instigator, roughing, misconduct and game misconduct. Steve Ott did not receive a fighting major.

The marathon begins. Downey throws off his gloves and challenges Worrell. McAllister drops his gloves and tries to square off with Downey but Downey skates around him to get to Worrell. Worrell then sheds his gloves and Downey gives him a "bring it on" wave, and then pulls up his sleeves. They begin to circle and shadow box. They each try and grab on a couple of times and don't have any luck. Downey finally tries a left that connects to Worrell's right shoulder and Downey then grabs onto Worrell. They grapple for a second and exchange short rights to the helmet. They grapple some more and Worrell throws a weak right that comes up short, then Worrell tries a body punch with the right. Worrell comes back to the head with two short rights that hit helmet or the back of Downey's neck. They grapple some more and Worrell tries two short rights that hit Downey's helmet. Worrell tries to get Downey's helmet off, but he can't. They grapple and spin some, and then Worrell tries a short right that comes up short. Downey responds with a right over the top that comes up short of Worrell's jaw. Worrell responds with two short rights Downey's helmet. Downey comes back with a right that might have landed to Worrell's jaw, but the camera angle makes it impossible to tell. Worrell responds with two rights. The first goes to Downey's body and the second comes over the top and hits Downey's helmet. Downey comes back with a short right to the back of Worrell's helmet. Worrell responds with two rights again. The first to the body and the second comes back to the head, which looked to connect with Downey's shoulder/face. They exchange rights to the helmet and then Worrell finally gets Downey's helmet off. They get in-close and Downey is shaking his head at the linesmen telling them not to come in. They grapple some and Downey tries to sneak in a right uppercut and it comes up short. Worrell comes back with two straight rights, the first comes up short and the second lands flush to Downey's face, but does nothing. Downey responds with four lefts over the top. The first one connects with Worrell's face and jars his head sideways. The next three hit shoulder or helmet. Worrell tries to come back with two rights that hit the side of Downey's head above the ear. Downey tried a right in the exchange that came up way short. They grapple a little more and Downey continues to shake off the linesmen. Worrell goes to the body with a right and Downey responds with a right that comes up short. Worrell comes back with a right that also comes up short. Downey throws a right that knocks Worrell's helmet off. They exchange rights over the top that hit the back of each other's head or back. Worrell goes back to the body with a right, and Downey comes back over the top with a right that comes up short. They exchange rights again, each come up short and then Worrell lands a right that lands flush on Downey's face, but doesn't faze Downey at all. They grapple some more and Worrell tries a right that hits Downey's back and then tries a left that comes up short. Downey tries to throw a left as the linesmen start to come in and hits Worrell's shoulder. They're broken up and the marathon bout is over. Several times during the fight the crowd chanted Downey's name.

The fight happens during a commercial break, but they showed the whole replay when they returned. Two big scrums break out, then when things seem to have settled, Cummins and Guerin drop the gloves and slug it out toe to toe at first, but then Jim took over and hammered Bill with several big rights. One seems to make Guerin turn away, and then they just tie each other up and the linesmen step in. Other Penalties: Guerin received a slashing, Brenden Morrow and Cody McCormick each received a roughing.

The fight starts in front of the Nashville net. Stevenson and Severson start to push and shove and the gloves come off. They grab a hold of each other and Stevenson throws a right that hits a combination of forehead and helmet and sends Severson's helmet flying. After the right they start grappling and Stevenson tries another right that comes up short. Severson responds with two weak lefts that hit helmet or shoulder. Stevenson then wrestles Severson down to a knee and tries a right that comes up short. They continue on with the grappling and do a 180 and exchange rights to the back of the head or heck. Stevenson then throws an overhand right that connects to the back of Severson's head and sends the off-balance Severson to the ice. Stevenson tries another right when Severson was on his way to the ice and missed by a country mile and threw himself to the ice. They're both on the ice now and the linesmen move in.

They're talking off the faceoff and then it looks like Radio challenges Hilbert. They shake the gloves, drop them, and Branko ditches the visor, but Hilbert keeps his lid on. They come together after a nice square off and Branko gets in about two short ones. Hilbert throws a bomb that may have landed, mabye another one, and then Branko gets about two or three more in before Hilbert goes off-balance.

They drop them deep in the Calgary zone, a few seconds after the faceoff. Langdon starts with a few lefts that seem to connect, then Oliwa starts throwing big rights and lefts. They grapple for a bit, and Oliwa throws a couple of more lefts. More wrestling and Oliwa gets Langdon off-balance and down they go.

Starts in front of the penalty boxes and Low gets in five short noogie-rights to the side of Dingman's head, then Dingman pushes Low into the glass. Dingman throws a missed right, and so does Low. They then trade weak rights that hit. Dingman throws one more, and then decides to try to hug out Low. Low throws and lands three or four from each hand, as he switches up a few times, but they all hit helmet or are weak shots. Dingman then gets twisted around and Low falls on top of him.

Off camera Brookbank goes right for Mitchell. They go in-tight on the glass. Each guy gets in maybe two or three short rights. They keep grappling and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Brookbank received an instigator and misconduct.

They square off right after the Wild goal. Johnson and Brookbank come together and each throw haymakers. Johnson has grasp of Brookbank's jersey with his left hand, he tries to jab Brookbank, and Brookbank loses his balance. Moose goes in for the kill, but Brookbank is up and gets Johnson's jersey pulled up over his head. Brookbank throws a few and lands at least one right with the jersey up. Johnson continued throwing, doing a good job at aiming with the jersey pulled up before they fall to the ice.

Henry levels Harvey as he dumps the puck in. Following that Harvey is trying to get at anyone during a scrum on the boards. As the puck gets loose and gets poked out to the blue line Harvey collects it and is hit hard into the boards by Ruutu. Harvey immediately drops the mitts and grabs Tuomo. Harvey throws a quick left, but Tuomo has him tied up, but then tries another glancing a shot off the helmet. Ruutu then throws his own version of the same punch and they each guy has the other locked up and the linesmen come in. Other Penalties: Harvey received an instigator and misconduct.

After the Asham-Barnaby fight the rest of the players on the ice (sans Dunham) are in a scrum Simon's pushing everyone around now and winds up going after Dave Scatchard. He's throwing gloved punches, but Scatchard has a brace on and can't fight. Simon drops the gloves, as does Scatchard when Simon gets in-close and Scatch holds on while Simon punches him for a bit. The linesmen can't break it up too effectively at first because more players are pairing off. They fall to the ice where Scatch is able to throw a couple of shots, but nothing really. In the mean time Messier's pushing around with Blake. Dipietro goes to get in between, but the two break away. Dunham skate down, but nothing happens. Messier and Blake continue to push and shove, and Messier's got Blake by the neck while Blake's trying to reach Messier with a punch-shove. The linesmen come in to break that up too. Other Penalties: Rick Dipietro received a leaving the crease penalty; Jason Blake a roughing; Mark Messier a double roughing; Simon a roughing and game misconduct; Scatchard a game misconduct.
