Oct 29, 2002 Columbus Blue Jackets Luke Richardson
1pd 02:50 Chicago Blackhawks Jason Strudwick
Comments: Strudwick checks Richardson, and they both drop the gloves. Richardson throws about 4, with 2 connecting well. Strudwick returns with about 2 more, 1 connecting and then going almost toe-to-toe with each other while both are throwing right hands. At this point Richardson is connecting and Strudwick starts to throw more, connecting to Richardson's head. Strudwick throws 1-2 more that look ok, not too much damage done. Luke then throws maybe 1 more that, and misses as he loses balance and falls.

Oct 29, 2002 Anaheim Ducks Kevin Sawyer
1pd 06:18 Montreal Canadiens Stephane Quintal
Comments: Lots of tugging both ways, with Sawyer landing one or two and Quintal ducking into Sawyer's jersey. Quintal stands back up, and same thing, one or two noogies by Sawyer and Quintal bends over into the jesrsey again. Now, this is where it gets weird... Quintal stands up and says something to Sawyer and you see Kevin look down, next thing you know Sawyer just backs away with this creeped out look on his face and starts yelling at the refs to get Quintal off the ice. Turns out Quintal dislocated his finger and Sawyer got a little shaken when he saw it. The replay on SportsNet was priceless as you can see Quintal saying over and over "look at my finger!" and then Sawyer's reaction.

Oct 29, 2002 Los Angeles Kings Ian Laperriere
1pd 13:47 Atlanta Thrashers Andy Sutton
Comments: Two minutes prior Sutton goes and hits Jason Allison which looks like a knee on knee. Sutton gets a roughing. After Sutton gets out of the penalty box he waits and Lappy is on his way. They both immediately drop the gloves, and Lappy dives right in. They both have a good hold on each others arms and Lappy throws 1 maybe that hit the helmet. Sutton basically took over from there. They have a tight hold and Sutton gets an arm free and throws like 8-9 noogies/short punches that all connect on top of Lappy's head. Linesmen come in and break it up.

Oct 28, 2002 Anaheim Ducks Kevin Sawyer
1pd 02:00 Toronto Maple Leafs Tie Domi
Comments: Off the faceoff these two grab on right away. Sawyer is throwing most of the punches at the start, maybe lands one or two. They get in close and Domi throws his first of the fight that connects, then Sawyer pulls Domi in and he falls and jumps back up. Domi has his right hand free and is trying to get his left so he can spin him. He attempts this for a while with Sawyer landing a grazing shot during this standoff. Domi finally switches hands and the linemen come in when he does. Domi gives a tug and pulls Sawyer to the ice hard as the refs grab on.

Oct 28, 2002 Phoenix Coyotes Andrei Nazarov
1pd 02:45 New York Rangers Krzysztof Oliwa
Comments: First shift for both players and they drop them off the faceoff. No square off because Oliwa dives right in and throws a bomb that connects, but brushes off. Nazarov also landed a little right when he dove in and a follow up left. They hold each other and Oliwa is trying to get loose. He does and he throws a bomb that misses and he goes off balance and starts falling. Naz doesn't throw any more.

Oct 27, 2002 Minnesota Wild Jason Marshall
2pd 13:32 Colorado Avalanche D.J. Smith
Comments: Smith and Marshall grab each others jerseys, dance for one second, then Smith starts throwing lefts, landing all but one. Marshall did not land the first one and about the 5th left thrown by Smith took Marshall completely down.

Oct 27, 2002 San Jose Sharks John Jakopin
3pd 03:55 Chicago Blackhawks Shawn Thornton
Comments: It starts right after the faceoff and they are both wrestling and trying to get themselves free from one another. Thornton throws maybe two or three rights and one lands in the face of Jakopin that sends him down on the ice with the help of a push.

Oct 27, 2002 Los Angeles Kings Ken Belanger
1pd 02:36 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
Comments: After the whistle a small scrum develops and Belanger jumps Shelley. Looks like Belanger may have landed a few minor punches and Shelley just never got it going. They wrestle into the corner and end up on the ice. Other Penalties: Shelley received a cross checking; Belanger an instigator and misconduct.

Comments: One punch by Bertuzzi and Boucher is dropped to turtling and bloodied a bit (knock down, not knockout).

Oct 26, 2002 Minnesota Wild Matt Johnson
1pd 10:46 Phoenix Coyotes Darcy Hordichuk
Comments: Johnson and Hordichuk meet up and Johnson has a much better showing with a series of rights to Hordichuk. Looked like Hordichuk got some blows in as you could see welts on both as they skated off the ice.

Oct 26, 2002 Minnesota Wild Matt Johnson
1pd 01:31 Phoenix Coyotes Andrei Nazarov
Comments: Less than two minutes into the game Nazzy looks to continue the rivalry going back to the SJ days. They square off and Matt opens up with two rights. Nazzy tucks himself in nice and tight and they exchange noogies on each others helmets. Matt does try switching to his left to catch Naz, but nothing connects. Take down by Naz.

Oct 26, 2002 Anaheim Ducks Kevin Sawyer
1pd 03:05 Edmonton Oilers Georges Laraque
Comments: They squared off after the first Ducks goal, and they come together. Laraque rips the helmet off Sawyer and connects with 3 lefts. Sawyer goes to his knees, but gets back up and gets a good left in. Laraque answers with a couple more lefts and ragdolls Sawyer. Sawyer landed what appeared to be 2 good punches in the fight, and Laraque appeared to land approx. 7 or 8 punches (not all good shots), but at least 3 very good solid punches.
Voted winner: Georges Laraque (80.0%) - Voted rating: 6.1

Oct 26, 2002 Buffalo Sabres Eric Boulton
3pd 19:57 Pittsburgh Penguins Steve McKenna
Comments: Boulton wants to go with McKenna as the clock ticks down. They drop with McKenna skating towards a backtracking Boulton. McKenna clocks Boulton with a right to the jaw, stunning Boulton, who ducks and puts both hands over his head and falls to ice/knees. McKenna then throws 5 more to the top of the head to the defenceless, turtling Boulton.

Oct 26, 2002 Buffalo Sabres Adam Mair
2pd 09:57 Pittsburgh Penguins Wayne Primeau
Comments: They exchanged punches as Pushor and Boulton are going. Mair threw the first one, then Primeau dropped his gloves and looked to throw a big right. Nothing too exciting, they calm down as they realize that Boulton and Pushor are going, but it is too late, they get game misconducts for a nothing fight. Other Penalties: Both players received game misconducts.

Oct 26, 2002 Buffalo Sabres Eric Boulton
2pd 09:57 Pittsburgh Penguins Jamie Pushor
Comments: Pushor nails Campbell, and Boulton goes after him. Lots of grappling, and they both landed some punches, none too effective, Pushor might have gotten a couple more in. Other Penalties: Brian Campell and Dan LaCouture received roughings; Boulton a cross checking; Pushor an instigator and misconduct.
