Dec 07, 2002 Montreal Canadiens Randy McKay
1pd 05:58 Phoenix Coyotes Todd Simpson
Comments: Starts off as a wrestling match, then Simpson throws a few short lefts. They both do the straight-arm tie up and Simpson does a short jab with the hand that holds the jersey. They both start throwing punches. McKay throws the right while Simpson throws the left. Simpson may have landed a couple to the back of McKay's head, but the fight ends when they tie each other up and McKay lands on top of Simpson.

Dec 07, 2002 Edmonton Oilers Scott Ferguson
1pd 15:30 Florida Panthers Lance Ward
Comments: Edmonton is up 3-0 and it's clear Ward wants to spark the club. Ward and Ferguson drop the gloves with Ferguson landing more. He landed a couple glancing blows and Ferguson goes down, not from the punches, because they weren't landing flush, but also a balance issue. When Ferguson goes down Ward hits him a couple of more times for good measure.

Dec 07, 2002 Carolina Hurricanes Jesse Boulerice
2pd 06:03 Ottawa Senators Brad Smyth
Comments: Smyth challenged Boulerice because of the big win vs Neil. Smyth throws an uppercut that came up short. Boulerice gets his helmet off and Smyth drags him to the ice.

Dec 07, 2002 Carolina Hurricanes Jesse Boulerice
1pd 08:53 Ottawa Senators Chris Neil
Comments: Boulerice looked like he wanted it and Neil accepts. A couple nothing shots by each and they fall, however there is only one linesman over there and he lets em get up. The first punch that is thrown is a big right cross by Boulerice that connects and down goes Neil.

Dec 07, 2002 Carolina Hurricanes Sean Hill
1pd 07:09 Ottawa Senators Mike Fisher
Comments: With Carolina down 2-0 Hill tries to spark his club. He levels Fisher with a check, then stands over him and challenges him. They drop the gloves, Fischer gets Hill's shielded helmet off and gets a couple nothing shots in, then Hill drags him to the ice.

Dec 07, 2002 Tampa Bay Lightning Andre Roy
2pd 14:46 Boston Bruins Sean O'Donnell
Comments: Starts in front of the B's net and it looks like O'Donnell initiates. Roy gets the right going, but seems to come up short on all four punches. O'Donnell has a nice opening and attempts two rights, but his arm is caught up in his jersey. He then turns and Roy throws about four more rights to the back of O'Donnell's helmet.

Dec 06, 2002 Montreal Canadiens Randy McKay
2pd 08:22 Colorado Avalanche Bryan Muir
Comments: McKay was certainly the aggressor in this one. Typical Muir fight - he held his head as far away as possible, and looked like he didn't want to be there. The only punch that could be considered landed was one that glazed/bounced off McKay's shoulder and slowly, and I do mean slowly hit McKay in the face (it made his hair bounce, so the crowd cheered it). Bit of a snoozer. Other Penalties: McKay received an elbowing.

Dec 06, 2002 Montreal Canadiens Stephane Quintal
2pd 02:05 Colorado Avalanche Scott Parker
Comments: Parker goes to hit Quintal and gets his hands a little high. They bump again, and the gloves come off. Quintal doesn't waste time getting his off a few seconds before Parker. Quintal had a very nice grip on Parker's right for most of the fight. He held him at bay, but Parker did as well. Quintal threw more to begin with, then Parker ripped his helmet off, hit him with a few weak ones in the gut area, then switched to the left for a few. Right after he switched back to the right, he nailed Quintal with a pair (not back to back) of flush haymakers to the face. The second one causes Quintal to duck into Parker, and the refs come in, because both men are tired and Parker has Quintal in a semi-vulnerable spot.
Voted winner: Scott Parker (77.3%) - Voted rating: 7.3

Dec 06, 2002 Detroit Red Wings Sean Avery
2pd 03:58 Dallas Stars Brenden Morrow
Comments: Avery came out firing and landed two pretty good rights on Morrow. Morrow can't get anything going as Avery lands a couple more to the back of his head. Morrow then catches Avery with a good left, they grapple for a while, and Avery lands one or two more as the linesman come in. Long fight, not too many punches landing though. Other Penalties: Mathieu Dandenault received a tripping.

Dec 06, 2002 Atlanta Thrashers Pascal Rheaume
2pd 13:45 Washington Capitals Rick Berry
Comments: Starts along the boards with both holding on to each other with one arm free. Decent fight, but nothin special. Berry threw a lot, with most only hitting the helmet and a little rabbit punch being the only one that landed. Rheaume probably only threw 2-3 punches, all catching air. Other Penalties: Brian Sutherby received a holding.

Dec 06, 2002 Atlanta Thrashers Jeff Cowan
1pd 15:36 Washington Capitals Brendan Witt
Comments: Starts along the center ice line near the penalty boxes after Witt throws a nice hit to Cowan, which he takes exception to and promptly crosschecks Witt. Cowan tosses the gloves first with Witt following and throwing immediate rights, not much landing. Witt then ties up Cowan and throws three straight lefts to Cowan's face that land pretty clean. Cowan then comes back with a pretty good left that stuns Witt, but Cowan then all of a sudden just collapes. He literally fell after landing a good left. Witt then throws two to Cowan's head as he is down on the ice.

Dec 06, 2002 Toronto Maple Leafs Shayne Corson
3pd 06:58 New York Islanders Dave Scatchard
Comments: This one starts right off the draw as they shed the leather. There was a looong squareoff, too bad the fight didn't live up to the hype. Scatch starts off by firing 3-4 rights, nothing solidly connecting, but causes Corson to lose his balance. As Shayne gets up he tosses about 5 rights of his own, maybe one connecting. They then begin to grapple for position and Corson gets Scatch turned around. Corson throws a few more, kinda just forcing Scatchard to the ice, not a knockdown or anything near it.

Dec 06, 2002 Toronto Maple Leafs Tie Domi
2pd 02:28 New York Islanders Eric Godard
Comments: Webb drills Hoglund with a clean hit after Hoglund was admiring a dump in. Hoglund goes down and Domi goes to challenge Webb. In comes Godard and they throw down. Domi lands a right when they first drop them, then they tie up and Domi tries to get him spinning. He comes underneath and lands a good uppercut, then Godard pulls him in and lands two decent shots to Domi. Domi gets off one more uppercut that grazes Godard, and Godard possibly landed one or two more in close, with Domi also getting one more off. Then the linesman come in.

Dec 05, 2002 Atlanta Thrashers Jeff Cowan
1pd 13:05 Boston Bruins Sean Brown
Comments: The Thrashers get a 2-man advantage and score two goals and over-celebrate a bit. On the ensuing faceoff Brown goes right after Cowan. Cowan throws a couple of lefts, which appear to miss, and then Brown lands a couple putting Cowan to the ice.
