Jan 28, 2003 Pittsburgh Penguins Jamie Pushor
1pd 16:34 New York Islanders Jason Wiemer
Along the boards around the Isles blueline the two are chatting. The gloves come off and Wiemer lands an initial few. Pushor then returns fire landing a few of his own. They start to grapple a bit and go back and forth with rights. Wiemer appeared to land more. Pushor fell after a Wiemer punch, no tko, just a knockdown, even just a loss of balance.

Jan 26, 2003 Chicago Blackhawks Jason Strudwick
2pd 02:01 Montreal Canadiens Randy McKay
Strudwick checked McKay in the corner and they dropped the gloves. At first they were just holding on to each other against the boards for quite a while, no punches thrown. They then get onto open ice and still holding on, until Strudwick starts throwing a couple of decent and some weak punches. Nothing connected really well. McKay was just holding on through the whole fight.

Jan 26, 2003 New York Rangers Matt Barnaby
3pd 06:58 Washington Capitals Jason Doig
Doig touches up for the icing, but Barnaby gives him an extra shove. The fight was a hugfest with short punches doing nothing, Barnaby landed more of them. Barnaby Was crazy. The whole time he was screaming and laughing at Holik and telling the refs to back off.

Jan 26, 2003 New York Rangers Bobby Holik
1pd 00:51 Washington Capitals Jeff Halpern
Holik gets an elbow up on Halpern. Scrum by the benches is going on. It appears Halpern assumes nothing was being called, and starts throwing punches at Holik. About three punches, and Holik does nothing. Mironov comes in with gloves off, and is tossed for third man in, even though he didn't fight. Halpern got the extra penalty (unsportsmanlike) for getting an instigator with his shield on. Other Penalties: Boris Mironov a roughing and game misconduct; Holik an elbowing; Halpern an unsportsmanlike conduct, instigator and misconduct. Bobby Holik did not receive a fighting major.

Jan 25, 2003 Detroit Red Wings Brendan Shanahan
1pd 07:19 Calgary Flames Bob Boughner
They were tied up at the start, then Boughner started to get his right going and landed a couple. Shanny comes back with a couple and they tie up for a bit. The linesmen start to come in, but Shanny waves them off. The traded some more, but you could tell they were starting to get tired. Shanny drops to one knee and then gets up. Linesmen were about to come in, Boughner goes down, but the linesmen were ready this time and broke it up. Shanny landed a late one in the face when the linesmen came in.

Jan 25, 2003 Dallas Stars Derian Hatcher
2pd 07:01 St. Louis Blues Scott Mellanby
Hatcher pretty much ragdolls Mellanby around using the size advantage. Both have their rights free and both are thowing pretty wild. Looks like Hatcher landed two and Mellanby one. Hatcher throws Mellanby to the ice.

Jan 25, 2003 Philadelphia Flyers Eric Desjardins
2pd 00:57 Boston Bruins Joe Thornton
Desjardins cross checks Thornton, and Thornton gives him a shot back. Thornton follows Desjardins up the ice, they get the sticks high and Thornton drops the gloves. He rips the helmet off of Eric, and Desjardins finally drops the gloves. They are both in pretty tight. Thornton throws a bunch of short punches that all connect, and Desjardins doesn't want any of it and the linesman break it up. Desjardins is bleeding right over his eye.

Jan 24, 2003 Florida Panthers Peter Worrell
1pd 10:25 Carolina Hurricanes Jesse Boulerice
Boulerice and Worrell squareoff. They grab hold of each other's jerseys with their left hands. Boulerice extends his left which holds the shirt into a jab, and Jesse at first seems to have the larger man looking for balance. Boulerice lifts Worrell's jersey over his face, and Worrell's helmet comes off easily. Right after this, Worrell lands an overhand right to the side of a turning Boulerice's head. The two struggle, staying at arm's length and circling to gain control over the other. Boulerice swings with a big right, but he clearly misses Worrell, who has him at too far a distance. The two still holding each other with their left hands, Worrell throws Boulerice slightly off balance with a strong shove, and then, taking advantage of his longer reach, lands another overhand right. Boulerice quickly gathers himself and sends a solid right to the body of Worrell and another strong right to the back of Worrell's uncovered head. Worrell appears to gain the upper hand as Boulerice tries to pull his jersey in front of his face. Worrell misses with a right, but uses the momentum to follow through with his forearm, taking Boulerice to the ice in the process. Peter has Jesse on the ice, under him, and as the two begin to get up the linesmen grab them. Boulerice holds on to Worrell's jersey as the referees are between them, but the linesmen manage to separate them. The whole fight has occured very quickly.

Jan 24, 2003 Toronto Maple Leafs Darcy Tucker
3pd 18:18 Buffalo Sabres Adam Mair
Tucker takes a run at Kalinin and Mair objects. They drop them around the Sabres blueline. Mair lands lightly with three lefts to start, and they have each other tied up pretty good. They trade a few back and forth, and Mair looks to have landed two good left uppercuts and missed on one as Tucker goes down.

Jan 24, 2003 Toronto Maple Leafs Tie Domi
2pd 10:26 Buffalo Sabres Rob Ray
Domi just drops the gloves and Ray follows. Domi grabs on, gets one left in, then another that lands right on the chin and pops Ray's helmet off. Ray hits the ice, but jumps back up. Domi is spinning him and lands or two more, then Ray regains composure and gets close. Ray then lands two bombs square to Domi. They are in close and Ray tries pulling Tie's helmet off and it is on his head sideways. Ray lands a good shot and the lid pops off. Domi gets a weak jab in and the linesmen come in. Both guys give each other a tap and smile for sportsmanship and go to the box.
