Mar 01, 2003 Minnesota Wild Jim Dowd
2pd 00:51 St. Louis Blues Dallas Drake
These two almost went at it in the previous game. Seemed like Drake was asking Dowd to go since the start. Drake shoves Dowd a bit and says something and Dowd drops the gloves. After that they tie each other up for a while and somehow Drake gets his right free and starts punching, but barely any connect. Dowd couldn't get a punch off until real late. Drake kept throwing even though Dowd was ducking and the punches seemed harmless. Then Dowd lost his balance and Drake gets the takedown.

Mar 01, 2003 Minnesota Wild Matt Johnson
1pd 02:17 St. Louis Blues Reed Low
Johnson seemed to be skating off to the bench when Low pushes him from behind and drops the gloves. Johnson turns around and Low locks him up while Johnson is still taking his gloves off. After that they grapple for a long time with Low sneaking in two weak uppercuts, which barely connect, while Johnson throws a weak right which might have connected. They grapple some more and Johnson looks like he tries to change hands and Low pushes him off his skates and gets the takedown.

Meanwhile, Lindros, Worrell and others start to scrum and Barnaby goes over to challenge Worrell. They both drop the gloves and get in close immediately. Barnaby throws a weak right, then Worrell connects with a decent right of his own. From here on, Barnaby is just trying not to get pummelled. Worrell tries to come over the top with some punches, but Barnaby does a good job of dodging them. Eventually Worrell connects with some weak shots, but no damage done. Other Penalites: Tetarenko recieved a double minor for roughing.

Mar 01, 2003 Vancouver Canucks Bryan Allen
1pd 03:36 Montreal Canadiens Gordie Dwyer
Some wrestling at first. Allen tries to throw a right, but Dwyer has his arm tied up. Dwyer misses a big left. They spin and tug some more. Right by Dwyer hits shoulder. Right uppercut by Dwyer may have landed. Dwyer lands a left, Allen comes back with a right. A Dwyer left hits the side of the head. Another left comes up short. Left uppercut by Dwyer, and Allen seems content to hold on as the linesmen break it up. A lot of grabbing and pulling, Dwyer was more active, but didn't land much.

Mar 01, 2003 Philadelphia Flyers Jim Vandermeer
2pd 03:46 Boston Bruins Krzysztof Oliwa
Square off after a Bruin goal. Oliwa gets in a good right early, and then kind of lands/comes up short on three more. Vandy tied him up well, and a few nothing shots were exchanged. Vandermeer brought this one down to the ice and it's over.

Mar 01, 2003 Philadelphia Flyers Jim Vandermeer
1pd 03:19 Boston Bruins P.J. Stock
They square off at center ice and immediately tie each other up. They grapple for a few until Stock gets his right loose and lands a couple of good shots. Vandermeer gets loose too and lands some good lefts countered with more rights by PJ. Stock does a good job of switching up and lands more lefts and rights. Both combatants land great punches in this long battle, but Stock landed more. Vandermeer seemed to have a grin on his face the whole fight, but both players looked pretty beat up afterwards. Stock does his wave and appeared to be bleeding and it looked like he had a small mouse under his eye. Great fight.

Feb 27, 2003 San Jose Sharks Bryan Marchment
2pd 16:44 Vancouver Canucks Darren Langdon
Marchment gives a Vancouver player a knee to knee and Langdon comes over and gets the gloves high, but the refs jump in before anything happened. About 6 seconds after that things settled down and Langdon and March dropped them and once again the refs jumped in, but Langdon was still throwing them between the two linesmen and so was Marchment. Maybe a couple connected from Langdon, but nothing more, the linesmen wouldn't let go of them. Other Penalties: Langdon received an instigator and miscondcut.

Good sqaureoff along the boards. They come together, both looking to throw the rights. Staios connects with a couple, then Mellanby does a good job tying him up and gets off about 5 or 6 right hands. They tie each other up again. Mellanby throws a few more rights, and Staios counters with two rights of his own, and Mellanby goes to the ice. Good show by Mellanby.
