Mar 27, 2002 New Jersey Devils Jim McKenzie
1pd 02:50 Pittsburgh Penguins Krzysztof Oliwa
First shift, Oliwa wanted this without a doubt. He got McKenzie in the neutral zone and was challenging him. McKenzie declined. The puck went into the Devils end and once again Oliwa sticked Big Mac, who this time dropped his stick and gloves. They tied up and Oliwa let go a few short rights. Big Mac mostly was grappling. Oliwa once again tried to throw a few more, but McKenzie wouldn't open up. McKenzie then tried his right, but Oliwa had a good hold of his jackhammer. Oliwa lost balance and fell down. He got back up and then the linesmen came in.

A few missed punches and Van Impe gets in the best punch with a strong right and the takedown in this quick scrap.

Mar 26, 2002 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
1pd 03:02 Edmonton Oilers Georges Laraque
Fair square-off at center ice. They grab on and Shelley misses a right. In-tight wrestling now. Both guys get each other's helmets off and start trading punches. Laraque with lefts, Shelley with rights. Laraque lands about 5 solid lefts, and then Shelley comes in with the huge right that seems to puts Laraque to the ice.

Mar 25, 2002 Florida Panthers Peter Worrell
1pd 17:42 New Jersey Devils Jim McKenzie
Worrell laid a tough hit on McKenzie near the Devils' bench that McKenzie didn't like, so McKenzie followed Worrell to the Panthers bench and said something to him. They then got into a shoving match and away they went. Worrell started off by landing a right, then McKenzie responded with a right. Worrell showed quick hands and snapped off about 5 quick rights to McKenzie's 2 and then wrestled him down.

Mar 25, 2002 Florida Panthers Rocky Thompson
1pd 03:32 New Jersey Devils Jim McKenzie
Rocky took at run at McKenzie, but they didn't go right away as NJ had a scoring chance. But then a little later in the shift, Rocky went right over to McKenzie and challenged him and away they went. Camera got there a little late, but when they got there McKenzie sort of had Rocky hunched over and Mac threw a short left or two. Rocky then got in position and they were each throwing lefts, all appearing to come up short. Rocky then appeared to get the right free and landed a decent shot. They then mutually decided that they'd had enough and the linesman came in. Decent fight, but not up to the Rocky normal toe-to-toe style.

Mar 24, 2002 Boston Bruins Dennis Bonvie
1pd 03:07 Tampa Bay Lightning Chris Dingman
Not much of a scrap here. The ultra-long square-off may have been the most exciting part. Dingman threw three overhand rights that all hit helmet. Then they get in real close and exchange some short nothing punches before Dennis got the takedown.

Mar 24, 2002 Washington Capitals Brendan Witt
3pd 14:19 Pittsburgh Penguins Krzysztof Oliwa
Oliwa goes after Witt and hits him with a gloved right. He then drops the mitts and lands a right. The refs come in pull them apart. Witt dropped his gloves and stick, but didn't get a thing (nor did he throw a thing). Other Penalties: Oliwa received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. Brendan Witt did not receive a fighting major.

Mar 24, 2002 Anaheim Ducks Mike LeClerc
2pd 14:08 Dallas Stars Brenden Morrow
At the end for their shifts, they didn't have much left. LeClerc landed more noogie shots, but Morrow landed the only solid punch of the fight.

Mar 23, 2002 Calgary Flames Bob Boughner
2pd 08:31 Edmonton Oilers Scott Ferguson
Petrovicky levels Reasoner with a solid, clean check. Smith didn't like it though, and he went after Petrovicky. Berube comes in from behind and hits Smith in the back of the head. Big scrum along the boards. Boughner and Ferguson emerge from the scrum and tie each other up. Boughner gets the right free, which in turn allows Ferguson to fire a left. Swing and a miss. Boughner throws 3 or 4 shots which hit helmet. Ferguson then goes down. Short fight. Other Penalties: Craig Berube received a roughing; Jason Smith a double roughing.

Mar 23, 2002 Calgary Flames Bob Boughner
1pd 10:31 Edmonton Oilers Jason Smith
Both Boughner and Gauthier went after Smith. Smith dropped his gloves and grabbed Boughner while Gauthier was still trying to get at Smith. Gauthier was throwing punches at Niinimaa, who was tied up with McAmmond at the time. Niinimaa turns to Gauthier and gets loose from McAmmond as McAmmond and Ryan Smyth get tied up. Niinimaa takes down Gauthier. Meanwhile, Jason Smith and Boughner tried to fight, each guy throwing one or two punches each, but the linesmen got in there rather quickly, and the whole scrum was quieted down. Other Penalties: Dean McAmmond, Ryan Smyth, Janne Niinimaa and Smith received roughings.

Mar 23, 2002 Boston Bruins Sean Brown
3pd 04:05 Florida Panthers Peter Worrell
These guys tried to go earlier in scrum and ended up with misconducts. Finally they go with Worrell starting off with good right. Several rights after that landed on back of helmet, shoulder, and a kidney shot as Brown tried to jockey for position. Brown kept sliding punches by leaning down and keeping his head tucked. He couldn't neutralize Worrell's reach advantage. Brown finally got some rights off, appearing to get a least one strong right. Punch was iffy at best though.
