Jan 02, 2002 Philadelphia Flyers Todd Fedoruk
1pd 07:25 San Jose Sharks Bryan Marchment
Fedoruk lays a nice hit on Vincent Damphousse and Marchment initiates a fight. Marchment throws a weak right to start the fight and then they grab unto each other. Grappling now, Marchment has an excellent grip on Fedoruk's right arm and throws some weak rights to Fedoruk, one looked as though it landed. Fedoruk still cannot get his right free so he switches to the left and him and Marchment start throwing lefts. They throw 3 each when Fedoruk's second left buckles Marchment and sends him down. Marchment was extremely pissed on the ice and kept trying to throwwhile Fedoruk showed class by not pummeling him when vulnerable.

Then Bill Lindsay came in to help Ward, who threw no punches. Lindsay grabbed on to Belanger to hold him back from hurting Ward. Other Penalties: Belanger received an instigator and game misconduct.

Jan 02, 2002 New York Rangers Matt Barnaby
2pd 02:55 Edmonton Oilers Sean Brown
Started at center ice away from the play. Brown got his right loose and landed three good rights. Barnaby tried to throw back but got pulled down to Brown's chest and Brown landed several good right uppercuts. Brown switched at the end of the fight to his left and landed two good punches that put Barnaby to the ice.

Dec 31, 2001 Philadelphia Flyers Todd Fedoruk
2pd 09:16 Vancouver Canucks Mike Brown
Fedoruk crushes Lachance along the boards and Brown comes in. They get together and decide to dance. They both grab ahold of each others jersey and neither fighter is able to get a hand loose. Both try to throw a few, but they are in too close and tied up within their jerseys. The refs break up what was a crap fight.

Dec 31, 2001 Edmonton Oilers Georges Laraque
2pd 10:57 Calgary Flames Craig Berube
Berube gets two minutes for running over Tommy Salo. As soon as he gets out of the box, on his next shift, he is challenged by Brown, but doesn't accept. Laraque goes right up to Berube and off came the gloves. Berube immediately went into a defensive posture, ducking his head and holding on. Laraque throws 3 or 4 shots to the back of the head, and Berube goes down. Georges lets Berube get back up, and Laraque throws two uppercuts, which miss, and two straight left hands to the side of Berube's head, and Berube goes down again.

Dec 31, 2001 Anaheim Ducks Denny Lambert
2pd 09:08 Columbus Blue Jackets Lyle Odelein
Odelein goes after Lambert after the play is blown dead, likely due to words the two had earlier. Lambert tries to start off with a right but it just ain't happening. Odelein follows with a nothing right and lands a few follow up glancing blows to Denny's helmet. Lambert has his head buried in Lyle's chest. Odelein fires a right that hits Lambert's back. They're all tied up now. Denny's helmet is off. Grabbing now. Odelein fires three quick rights while in close and two connect to the top of Lambert's head. Funny, it looks like Lambert's head is inside of Odelein's jersey. Lambert lands a crusher to the face of Odelein. In close again. Round and round they go. Denny wants that helmet off. Here we go: Lyle drops a big left as Lambert uncorks a right. Denny doesn't have the distance but Odelein does and he lands heavy to the face! He follows up with another left to the face and Lambert connects with a right at the same time! Lyle glances one off the back. Holding on now. Good flurry. Lambert cuts loose with a right that Lyle ducks and returns with a right that may have connected. Hard to tell due to the angle. Lambert throws a wild right that misses and pulls both guys off balance. Down they go. In come the zebras and it is over. Seemed like Lambert had his head down the whole fight. Nice fight.

Dec 30, 2001 Phoenix Coyotes Todd Simpson
2pd 17:25 San Jose Sharks Owen Nolan
Simpson gets the early start, as he hits Nolan with 2 or 3 lefts. Nolan goes down, but gets right back up. Simpson tries a few more lefts, maybe 3, none of which land cleanly. Nolan comes back with 5 or 6 rights, but they hit mostly helmet. Simpson then throws two more lefts, the first one missing, the second one landed really good, and Nolan went down to the ice.

Dec 30, 2001 New Jersey Devils Jim McKenzie
1pd 02:23 Edmonton Oilers Georges Laraque
Off the faceoff, the two heavyweights drop the gloves. McKenzie gets the jump, as he gets off a flurry of 6-7 lefts, all of which either hit Laraque's shoulderpads, or air. McKenzie goes down to a knee, and gets back up. Laraque then gets the helmet off of McKenzie and connects with 4-5 lefts to the back of Jimmy Mac's head. Both guys go down and the linesmen step in.

Dec 30, 2001 Anaheim Ducks Kevin Sawyer
1pd 08:55 Chicago Blackhawks Ryan VandenBussche
They both squared off and started throwing from the face-off. Started in fron of the Ducks bench and wound up more toward the center of the arena. Both traded many punches while the last one that Sawyer tried to land caught Vandy's helmet flush. Made a loud crunching noise.

Dec 29, 2001 New York Rangers Matt Barnaby
2pd 19:42 Los Angeles Kings Kelly Buchberger
Buchberger starts off with three rights. I thought perhaps one landed but JD said nothing landed. Bucky ties up Barnaby. Matt is doing his best to get his hands free. He gets the left free, throws an uppercut that landed, then they both trade some punches with little landing by either player. Bucky then gets the death grip on Barnaby and really tries to pull him down and succeeds by pulling Matt down on top of him. Not a great bout. It appeared that after the initial flurry, Buchberger was finished and wanted to wrestle.
