Colorado Avalanche |
Dan Hinote |
| During a scrum in front of Hasek, away from the pile the 2 pests start yapping. A little glove wigglin and there they go! It's a far-away camera view to start, but Avery appears to land 1, 2, 3, 4...make that 5 straight rights on Hinote. Hard to tell exactly where they landed. Dan wants to take part in this scrap so he tosses a right of his own, but misses. Sean misses with a right, then grazes Hinote with another. Avery feels Hinote's helmet isn't needed, so he rips it off. Each miss a few more, then do a little tuggin and pullin. Each trying to get free, Dan lands to the back of Sean's helmet while Sean misses a right. They both now get an arm free and are looking to drop a few bombs. Both chuck big ones and land. They're not done...wham! Again each land a big one with Hinote's shots looking to be the harder of the two. Dan misses a right, Avery lands to the back of the head, then another, followed by a short Hinote right. The linesman come in with both men giving a little nod to each other. Nice scrap. Other Penalties: Jesse Wallin received an interference. |

Darren McCarty |

Colorado Avalanche |
Rick Berry |
| On the faceoff following a McCarty goal, Darren is seen saying something to Berry and giving him a little look like "it's that time for a little scrappin in Hockeytown". Puck drops, McCarty skates over to Berry and its on. The two shadowbox a bit and Mac grabs Berry with his right while Berry grabs with his left, each looking to land a bomb. Darren fires a big left that Berry just avoids. In the clench now, big B lands a soft right to Mac Daddy's helmet. McCarty possibly grazes Berry with a left. Both then fire simultaneous shots (toe to toe style), with Darren landing to the chest while appearing to take a shot to the face himself. McCarty misses with a left, followed by a Berry right to the helmet. Darren fires and lands 2 short lefts and manages to duck 2 rights. Berry's pushed down to a knee, but gets right back up. Each misses a punch, Mac then lands a left while Berry misses another. They're all tied up now with Darren's jersey over his head. After about 5 seconds, the linesman say thats all folks with a little blood on McCarty's nose. |

Brad Ference |
| Scrum near the boards. Kvasha was just holding onto Worrell who was pushing him into the bench and throwing a glove-on slap or two. They don't show how it starts, but cameras blink and the Hammer-Tets fight looks sloppy but even. They flash back to Kvasha and Worrell, then pick it up the "real" fight soon after the start with both guys having good grips. Each throw a few rights, nothing lands. Ference switches to the left and lands, promptimg Roman to bail out of trying to land anything more, ducking the head and looking to tie up. Ference lands close to a dozen short left hooks, prompting Howie Rose (the Isles announcer) to start yelling that a teammate should jump in and save Roman. Linesman finally get there from escorting Worrell and Kvasha and the fights over. Other Penalties: Bill Lindsay recieved a boarding; Oleg Kvasha and Peter Worrell both received double roughings; Hamrlik and Ference both received misconducts. |

| They drop the gloves, but get broken up. 2 minutes for each. Then they come out of the box and drop 'em again, Lappy is trying to throw them the whole fight, he may have hit Blouin with one or two to the side of the head/helmet area. Blouin had him locked out real good, Lappy wanted to go toe to toe, but Blouin didnt. Blouin then gets Lappy spinned around, and throws 2 to the back of Lappy's helemt. Then they go down. |

| Not much, Flinn and Johnson both try and unload, and it looked like Flinn landed the only punches, but only to the back of the head. There was one point where they both threw huge haymakers. Flinn's missed, but Johnson's missed as well. |

| Simon clearly wants another go as he drills Salvador into the boards and drops the gloves immediately. Simon goes for the grab and fires a left which misses, but Salvador goes on the defensive and lowers his head. Simon lands a heavy left as Bryce straightens up which buckles his knees. That one hurt. Simon is mad. Salvador gets back up but his head is still down. He charges into Simon and tackles him. Both guys go down and this one is over. |

| Simon bumps the St Louis goalie, which looked inadvertant, and Salvador does the right thing by coming in to challenge Simon. The gloves kinda come off and both guys grab on. Salvador must be new to this because he still has his right glove on. Off it goes. Well, Bryce sneeks a short right in and it lands to Simon's face. Impressive. Simon wants to return a left, but it's tied up. As he switches to the right Salvador feeds him another right. Simon then pushes his fist up Salvador's face bending him sideways. There is some pulling and tugging then both guys get off balance and fall down. Although Simon's face never faced the camera he did wipe blood from his face on the way to the box. Other Penalties: Simon received a goaltender interference. |

| Harvey runs Kaspar after the Whistle, Tibbetts comes in with the gloves already off to hug Harvey, I thought they were going to make out. Away from it Lacouture and Bradley are locked up and were warned if they fought they were both gone. Well Lacouture should of listened to the warning and skated away, because they did go and it looked like Bradley landed a good right that put LaCouture down, not sure if it was a tko, Danny looked ok, he was also firing wildly, but Bradley landed a good right after missing a big right. Other Penalties: Todd Harvey received a boarding. |

Jim McKenzie |
| They go right off the draw after a Holik goal. The first two camera angles could have been better. The first one is your traditional far away shot from high up anytime there is a center ice faceoff. The second one they tried to get an ice level shot but the cameraman must have been getting into the fight because the camera was jumping all around! Anyway, they just start firing at each other right off the draw. All offense no defense. McKenzie really looks like he is nailing Vandy with lefts. Vandy landed some shots but was having trouble reaching Jim. Then, they stop and get in a little closer and get defensive. McKenzie is throwing some straight shots at Vandy, and Vandy is taking some, but takes a Domi style approach as he lowers his head and waits for an opening to throw a bomb. He tries 4 and lands 3, two real good ones. While he is doing that, about half of Jim's shots hit the mark. Then McKenzie lands a real good left, then an uppercut and one more and then he just wraps up Vandy. Maybe he felt he hurt VandenBussche and stopped. I don't know if that was the case because the linesmen were in no rush to break it up and Vandy really did not look hurt. Chico Resch said Mac outlands about 2 to 1. He also gave Vandy his due and said just before the game, Vandy was shadowboxing for about 3 minutes outside the locker room. |

Tomas Kloucek |
| Late whistle blows, Czerkawski shoots right after and Karpa mugs him letting him know that doesn't fly in MSG. Big scrum in the corner. Fleury pushes Cairns, Cairns throws some shots, linesmen in quick. Fleury's trying to get at anyone and literally gets tackled by a linesman. Blackburn was going in to get part of this, but quickly got held back. Osgood came down to center ice and was turned down from afar from the ref who waves him away while holding Blackburn, so nothing happened there. All in the meantime, Kloucek goes over to Yashin. Yashin gets his hands high and looks like he throws a gloved punch and the two drop the gloves. Kloucek gets Yashin's jersey over his head and has him bent over while punching the whole time and getting the best of it. Chow comes in to pull him away (with one of the refs) and as they're both there, Yashin gets off 2 maybe 3 good shots to Kloucek's face. Reported broken nose for Kloucek. Other Penalties: Mariusz Czerkawski an unsportsmanlike conduct; Eric Cairns and David Karpa both received roughings; Chris Osgood and Dan Blackburn both received leaving the crease penalties; Theo Fleury an unsportsmanlike conduct and misconduct; Kloucek an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct. |

| The two square off quickly and Purinton throws some big punches quickly. All land hard and Cummins face looks busted up as the fight appears as though it will be over in a few seconds. Cummins then regains his balance and thoughts and turns the fight around. Many punches land to the side of Purinton's head. Good start, good finish, the Garden's going nuts, Purinton has some scratches and Cummins' face is busted. |

| Michael Peca takes a rough check, scrum ensues. McCarthy and Isbister start up. It's all McCarthy here. He goes on for quite a bit while shaking Isbister about. While the linesmen are breaking it up, it appears Isbister won't let go. McCarthy then throws a big punch over the linesmen sending Isbister to a knee. As McCarthy is being escorted off the ice, Eric Cairns is being restrained on the Isles bench while screaming (reciting Sonnets I'm sure). Other Penalties: Tomas Kloucek received a roughing and charging; Mariusz Czerkawski an unsportsmanlike conduct; McCarthy a game misconduct. |

| These two get roughings, right out of the box they hook up again. Domi started with his left. For the most part neither guy really landed anything solid. Marchment lost his balance early, but Domi couldn't capitalize. Most of the punches missed, were muffled via sweater handcuffing, or hit the helmet. Domi lost his helmet, but Marchment was unable to capitalize either. In the end they both went down, Domi on top of Marchment. Other Penalties: Marchment received an instigator and misconduct. |

| Fair mano y mano square off. Ed dives in and they both grab on. Jovo tries a right that misses. Pushing and tugging. Two lefts from Stevenson and a return right from Jovo all miss. A wild right from Ed gets Stevenson's arm and a follow up right misses entirely. Again, Jovo throws wildly and crashes into Stevenson's shoulder area. A Stevenson left misses. Jovo slips down to a knee but quickly recovers and lands another right into the arm. Stevenson somehow misses a short right. Jovo throws three consecutive nothing rights. Jovo ducks a left and comes up throwing a right which bounces off Stevenson's helmet. Jovo ends up behind Stevenson and goes for the bodyslam. Down they go and it is over. Not a great fight, but it did have spirit. |
