Radio/clip: The rematch from last season. Although this one didn't sound half as good. Both guys squareoff about midway through the 2nd. Simpson was very active throwing the lefts while Brennan was busy throwing rights. Brennan got Simpson pinned up against the boards and Simpson ripped his helmet off. Then it looked like he was cocking his right back to throw a punch but they ended the clip.

Radio: Allen didn't look like he was too eager to engage Laraque in a fight from the start, as he was ducking his head. Laraque lets loose with 5-6 lefts to the side of Allen's head and the linesmen come in to end it.

They squareoff towards the boards with some room to move. Moving around, they lunge in and Carpentier lands a nice left, while Perrott gets in a right. They grapple for a moment and go to switch hands while moving, and Perrott just takes over with the lefts, throwing a bunch while he's got Carpentier pressed up against the glass. Carpentier grabs and hugs tight to end it.

Jason Strudwick |
Along the sideboards Strudwick just levels some Buffalo player (boarding call). Peters was in the neighborhood and immediately grabs Jason and initiates the fight. Strudwick tries his usual two or three jersey-jabs on Peters, as Peters is just holding his left cocked back waiting for the big KO punch. As soon as the jabs come in from Struddy, Peters then throws a massive overhand left that knocks Jason in the head (helmet shot) and to Strudwick's credit, he threw one right back knocking Peters a bit off kilter. After that exchange they begin throwing successive lefts and rights each landing one or two. Peters looked like the stonger fighter, however Jason was landing as Peters was controlling the movement along the boards. Overall good fight from both guys. Other Penalties: Strudwick received a boarding.

Sydor takes exception to a slash from Koltsov, gets in his face, everyone pairs off for a little dance, but Shelley and McKenna decide to go at it for real. Wrestling at the start, again McKenna gets Shelley's jersey over his shoulders, then in the clinch gets the helmet off. He throws a few that don't land, Shelley comes back with a solid right to the head, goes in for the takedown, they wrestle each other to the ice, bout over pretty even. McKenna had a huge gash on his elbow in the penalty box, that may be where the blood came from earlier. Other Penalties: Konstantin Koltsov received a slashing.

This one starts at center ice, both with a jersey in the left hand swinging straight at the noggin with the right, trading about six blows each. They then tie each other up, wrestle to the ice, bout over. GP compliments Malone in the penalty box, saying "that was fun."

McKenna very quickly gets Shelley's jersey in a knot and takes advantage of it. Lots of ineffective punches thrown both ways, Shelley gets an arm free, they both lock out and start swinging. There's more wrestling, McKenna gets Shelley's helmet off. More swinging, tough to see what lands, then Shelley wrestles McKenna to the ground, fight over. Massive amounts of blood on the ice and on Shelley's jersey, unclear where it is from though, as McKenna heads straight to the locker room.

Scott Parker |
From SJSharks.com: With 5:21 left in the second, Burnett for whatever reason thought the third time would be the charm went after Parker yet another time. In an effort to keep his teammate Parker in the game - a third fight is an automatic ejection - Moscevsky tried to break up the battle and was given a third man in. Just like the second battle, Burnett's jersey game off. The end result was Parker and Moscevsky (the Sharks two native Californians), along with Burnett, being ejected. Other Penalties: Burnett received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Cam Severson a roughing; Yuri Mocevsky a roughing and game misconduct; Parker a game misconduct.
