Oct 03, 2003 St. Louis Blues Reed Low
2pd 03:21 Columbus Blue Jackets Jody Shelley
Low comes up to Shelley from behind, shoves him, the gloves come off. Low lands two quick shots before Shelley gets turned around. Not sucker punches, just quicker on the draw. No faceoff, they just start throwing 'em. Lots of action, brief hug, more punches thrown. Shelley lands a few while Low tries to get rid of his elbow pad. Low's jersey comes off. A couple of big rights from Shelley, Low holds on, refs come in. Both guys go to box exhausted and bloody. Low comes back to bench, still hasn't put jersey back on. Low had big cut under right eye. Couldn't see where Jody was cut, but he was bleeding, too. Overall, good heavyweight fight.

Oct 02, 2003 Calgary Flames Andrew Ference
3pd 03:30 Edmonton Oilers Raffi Torres
Torres nails a Flame in the corner. As soon as Torres gets up, he's immediately cross-checked and halfway jumped by Ference. Ference gets him off-balance right from the start and nails Torres with about three good rights. Torres is trying to swing back, possibly landing a couple of weak punches. Torres is still off-balance and falls down, then is allowed to get up and they begin exchanging right hands. It appeared that they both landed some pretty serious punches, but Ference seemed to get the better of the exchange. Torres had brutal balance throughout the fight. Other Penalties: Torres received a double elbowing; Ference an instigator and misconduct.

Oct 02, 2003 Colorado Avalanche Chris McAllister
1pd 09:21 Dallas Stars John Erskine
Erskine sees McAllister toying with Robidas and comes in. McAllister sheds his stuff. Quick square off, both go in to give a punch, and McAllister slips. Erskine gives him some helmet shots on the way down, but not really much of a fight. Other Penalties: McAllister received a roughing.

Oct 02, 2003 Buffalo Sabres Andrew Peters
1pd 00:00 Chicago Blackhawks Ryan VandenBussche
Fight started off at the left faceoff dot. It seemed to come out of nowhere and they shadow boxed for at least 30 seconds. It got so bad that the crowd began booing. Peters went for Vandy's hand and missed. Peters grabbed him and dragged him to his body and threw a haymaker that missed. That was about all that Peters missed with though because he started hammering VandenBussche with everything he threw. Very, very lopsided fight. No physical damage, but most of Peters' hits were to the side of the face and not at anything "burstable". Vandy didn't throw a single punch until they were down on ice after Peters easily put him there. Time listed is not correct.

Oct 01, 2003 Florida Panthers Darcy Hordichuk
1pd 19:00 Atlanta Thrashers Garnet Exelby
Radio: Exelby threw one of his bone crushing hits, and Hordi was right there. Sounded like a good exchange between two really good friends. No one went down, Dan Kamal of Thrasher radio called it a draw. Sounded like a good bout. Hordichuk got 2-5-10 instigator, even though it sounded as if Exelby knew he was gonna fight somebody. Other Penalties: Hordichuk received an instigator and misconduct.

Oct 01, 2003 Ottawa Senators Wade Brookbank
3pd 06:23 Toronto Maple Leafs Tie Domi
They drop the gloves right by the net and Domi immediately grabs and throws two lefts. They're attempting to grapple, but Brookbank's falling, Domi throws one on the way down and it's over already.

Oct 01, 2003 Ottawa Senators Wade Brookbank
2pd 04:18 Toronto Maple Leafs Wade Belak
Good heavyweight bout here. With plenty of room to move these two start swinging the rights back and forth. While in a spin, Belak effectively mixed in a couple of uppercuts, keeping Brookbank guessing.

Oct 01, 2003 New Jersey Devils Sean Brown
3pd 01:07 New York Rangers Dale Purinton
Early in the third they're a few feet in front of Brodeur and get the sticks up high. The gloves drop quicker then you can say "lots of tugging". Purinton swings the left and connects with a couple in the shoulder/neck area. Nothing seems to phase Brown, who's trying to get a better position on the bigger Purinton. Brown throws his own left and then a couple of right uppercuts. They're grappling the whole time, you can tell they're going to burn out quick. Some more position-jockeying and Brown goes to cock his right back, Purinton grabs it, and they hug till the linesmen come in.

Sep 30, 2003 Los Angeles Kings Ryan Flinn
3pd 13:23 Phoenix Coyotes Brad Ference
Late in the 3rd with the Coyotes down 6-1 a little more physical play breaks out. Flinn checks Mara against the boards and Mara takes exception. The gloves come off and punches were thrown. Then Radivojevic jumped in and attacked Flinn. All three of them are throwing punches as Brennan jumps in as well. Every player on the ice got involved and in the middle of that scrum Ference and Flinn break apart and square off. It doesn't sound like much happened here. A lot of wrestling and a takedown. Flinn winds up with a double fighting major. Other Penalties: Ference received an instigator, misconduct and game misconduct; Paul Mara a roughing and game misconduct.
