Oct 01, 2002 Anaheim Ducks Kevin Sawyer
2pd 03:00 Minnesota Wild Matt Johnson
Lining up for the faceoff they get in close and shove. Then the refs break it up and drop the puck again. Johnson rushes after Sawyer, slashes him, then the gloves come off. Seemed like Johnson was the only one to throw punches. Then came the big takedown for Johnson.

Oct 01, 2002 St. Louis Blues Tyson Nash
3pd 13:18 Detroit Red Wings Maxim Kuznetsov
Nash drops 'em first and the wrestling begins. After a few seconds, the 6'5" Kuznetsov realizes that fights take place with your gloves OFF, so he drops 'em. They go along the boards with Nash landing a flurry of about 7 or 8 rights to the side of Kuznetsov's head. Some back of the helmet shots also landed for Nash. After that, its all grappling. Max just hugs and holds off Nash without even throwing a damn punch. It's over.

Oct 01, 2002 New York Rangers Sandy McCarthy
2pd 13:27 Philadelphia Flyers Donald Brashear
A pissed off Brashear apparently goes to town on McCarthy with left after left, lumping him up pretty good and sending him to the dressing room. A cut and a cracked helemt were part of the aftermath.
