Patrick Kaleta's one-sided performance against Derek Dorsett was hard to forget from this past week. The scrap currently maintains an 8.1 rating, and the number of punches thrown and landed by Kaleta show why.
If you visited us over the holiday, you probably noticed that John Scott's performance against Kevin Westgarth was easily the most enduring scrap of the weekend. It was also the highest rated fight of this past week, thus giving it "FOTW" honors, but not without overcoming some legitimate competition.
The selection process for this week was quick and easy. Darcy Hordichuk and Shawn Thornton's wild scrap from this past week was the unanimous winner. With both fighers now in the east, let's hope for more of the same later this year.
Matt Kassian was primed and ready for his first NHL regular season tilt this past week against Jared Boll, and it showed as Kassian pumped away with a fury of non-stop right hands while Boll played defense and landed some of his own in a solid scrap.
